PATTEBBOU just saves self St, Joseph, Mo., June 16. -(SpecUI Telegram.) Before Booster day crowd of nearly 2,500 people the Drummers defeated the Rourkes this afternoon 2 to 1, ' It was another of those pitchers', battles, botn fatter son and Krause pitching nice ball, but coupled with this was an exhibi tion of some of the classiest fielding seen at. the league park this year. ' The one-hand stop by Otto Wil liams of Krueger's hard-hit ball in the sixth was as spectacular a play as has keen seen at the Dark this season andanother was made when Miller, the Omaha first sacker, pulled down sn infield hit of Patterson's and made a doublep lay unassisted , Rourkes Score Early. The Rourkes scored in the first inning. Smith singled and Thomp son also hit safely. Krueger hit to Keating, who made the. only error charged to the Drummers during the game and allowed Smith to score. The Drummers came right back in their half of the first and tied" the score after this fashion: McCabe walked and Otto Williams was out one a fly to right field. Fusner sin gled, sending McCabe to second, then Block doubled and McCabe scored. An error, the only one against the Dmahana. was charsed to Kitduff in this inning. It is a peculiar fact that the only two misplays of the game came i nthe first inning. In the third the Drummers scored their other run. enough to win -the game, for after that frame both twirlers were air tight and neither side scored against the other. " . Otto Williams drew a base on balls. Fusner sent Williams to second on a sacrifice and , Block- was again the man with the punch, sending Wil- :. liams across the platter when he sin gled to center. Out of Tight Hole. Thinca looked bad for Patterson in ; the ninth and the fans were beginning to feel that the visitors were (ill going to cop. Thef irst two men up, : lhompson and Miller, singled, cut Thompson was caught going to third on a fielder's choice, hit by Kreuger. Forsythe was out on a play from But ler to Fusner and then Kilduff walked, filling the bases.1 With three . on, Pat pitcher a fooler to Burg and thev isitors third baseman hit into an easy out to Butler. i It was one of the best games of the season front every viewpoint .
