Warren is Arrested
for Having One Too.
Many Wives at Once
Arthur Warren, 22 yean old, was
arrested by Deputy Sheriff Larry
Klvtiii Monday at iiis home, 1-4(31
Gust s'reet, Last Omaha, and taken
to Syracuse, Neb., where he is wanted
for wife desertion.
According lo the authoritiei here,
Warren is aio a bigamist. After he
left Syracuse he went to Macon. Mo.,
where he married another woman,
with whom he was living on Cunt
atreet at the time of his arrest. His
explanation il that he thought his
first wife had obtained a divorce from
him. Wife No. 2 told Deputy Sheriff
Flynn that she did not know that
her husband had been married before.
"I won't give him up. We love each
other I" she cried when her husband
was taken away.
Warren said his first wife deserted
him and that he understood that she
applied for divorce ami obtained ser
vice upon him by publication.
High Asks Mandamus
To Revoke Licenses of
The Omaha Saloons
Rev. F, A. High, mperintendent of
the Anti-Saloon league, today insti
tuted mandamus action against th
(itv council, asking that the city re
voke the licenses of all Omaha sa
loons, on the grounds that they are
now without proper bonds, the Illi
nois Surety company, tbe bonding
rompsny for tbe saloons, hsving
failed.
The writ of mandamus was granted
ny Jurtge Day and the hearing let for
June 10.
MISS MrRTwiLSON. TEACHER
FORTY YEARS, RETIRES
After forty years continuous serv
ice in the Omaha public schools Min
nie R. Wilson, Fifth II teacher at
Central school, will be retired next
week. Her formal request for retire
ment wa received and approved by
the Hoard of Education.
Miss Wilson began her service in
tbe old high school building on Capi
tol bill, this school st that time hav
ing both etementary snd high school
classes. She taught at Webster and
Farnam srhools and has been st Cen
tral school since opening of the build
ing 1H9J,
Her sister, Mrs. Sands Woodbridge,
was member of the first high school
graduating class.
Miss Wilson is very modest about
referring to her long tnd faithful ser
vice. She has seen the Omaha school
system grow from t small group of
schools to the present system of more
than fifty ichool centers. She will
remain in Omaha, where she has a
home.

The high price of gasoline caused
a gasoline burglary at the Standard
Oil filling station at Forty-fifth and
Grant street! Monday night, Three
men drove up in an automobile after
