OMAHA HOLDS LEAD,
BY STAYING IDLE
Fain Puts Kibosh on Fray With
Wichita While Denver Wallop
the Lowly Links.
MAKE QUICK START FOR DENVER
Wichita, Kan., June 5. (Special
Telfgrm.) Ordinarily a baf ball
magnate gnash his teeth in agony
when a weather man puts the kibosh
on a combat. But I'a Rourke didn't
display any symptom of violent tem
per today when a Hidden rain taused
the postponement of the game here
today. On the contrary, Pa grinned
bit.
For by remaining idle the FourVrs
slid into first place again today. The
lowly Links from Lincoln were lam
bajted all over the Jot by the Hears,
with the result that Holmes' rrew
skidded down a notch and Omaha is
half a game ahead in the pennant rare.
And also the. Kourkes were enabled
to make an early hike out of Wichita
this afternoon. The Rourke are
tarded to open a series in Denver to
morrow afternoon and the journey
entails a couple of hair-line train con
nection ana also the charter of a
special electric car on an interurban
line running to the Santa l e main
line. Ta didn't have to charter the
special car rior did his athletes have
to do ny even time sprinting in order
to make their get-a-way.
The Denver-Lincoln fray was the
only one staged in the Western Irague
yesterday, all other being postponed
on account of rain.

No Auto Thrives
with Grit in
the Gears
same thingis going on in the gears
and bearings. "But," you say, "how can that be when I put in good lubri
cants?" Oil and grease alone will never prevent this grinding. Friction is
the constant filing over each other of little microscopic pins and roughnesses
that are found even in the most highly polished bearings. Oil and grease
merely smear these over. Heat thins the oil or grease and it runs in and
out of these roughnesses. They are constantly wearing away and breaking
off. There is only one way to put a stop to this mischief. Dixon's selected
rlake graphite as combined in DKon'i (Iraphite Greases makes a lubricant
that tills up every surface irregularity and puts an unctuous, smooth veneer
over the entire bearing, so that metal cannot come in contact with metal.
The more it is rubbed, the more brilliant finish and polish it takes on
There in onlv one form of tlake graphite that will do thii trick, and this i
prodtu ed only by the Joseph Dixon Crucible Company. A car thoroughly
