THREE TO NOTHING IS SCORE
Boston, May 29. The New York
Nationals continued on their victor
ious way today, shutting out Boston
3 to 0. Mathewson pitched for the
visitors and held the Braves to four
singles. The veteran did not waste
his strength, seldom using af ast ball,
and Boston hit only a few if his slow
ones outside the diamond.
Five double plays shortened the
game, One of thes was started by
Mathewson. He picked one of Smith's
fast shoots out of the air with his
bare hand and doubled Konetchy off
first. New York's first run was due
to an infield hit, an out at first and a
single by Kauff. Two hits, an error
and wild pitch and an out gave the
visitors two runs in the eighth.

Omaha and Lincoln
to Mix on Cricket
Crease Here Today
Captain Fred Holmes will lead his
eleven of Lincoln cricketers into
Omaha today for a combat at the Mil
ler park crease, with the Omaha
Cricket club team. The game will
start at 2 o clock.
Last year the locals trimmed up the
boys from the Capital City and are
expecting to repeat today. A note
worthy addition to the Omaha eleven
is Rev. Calvert of Benson, formerly
of Crete. The minster-cricketer is
said to have the rare ability of swerv
ing the cricket ball much as a base
ball pitcher throws an out curve,
which is regarded as a difficult feat
among cricket players. Mr. Calvert
will take the place of A. Hoyle, for
the last two years a member of the
local team, but now "somewhere in
France."

Dr. Roome, will be on hand to give
the Lincolnites the battle of their
lives.
Danes Accept the
Defi of the Swedes
for a Tug-of-War
Now comes the manager and cap
tain of the Danish tug-of-war team
and accents the defi hurled at them
by the Swedish team and sign an
agreement that they will pull for
blood and shekles the evening of
June 18.
Some time ago the Swedes placed
$500 as forfeit money in the hands
of the sporting editor of The Bee for
a contest with the championship
Danes. The Danes have been some
what backward about accepting this
challenge because of one clause in the
defi which said that all previously
won trophies were to go with , the
match. But now the Danes have
signed an agreement, through Emil
Toldbod, captain, and N. E. Nelson,
manager, that will accept the chal
lenge of the Swedes and that they
will at once put up their $500 as a
stake of the pull.
ARMOUR OFFICE TEAM IS
WINNER OVER THE COLTS
The Armour office base ball nine
defeated Durnall's Colts Sunday in a
hot combat, 4 to 0. Langhein, on the
mound for the packing house pen
pushers, was in rare form and allowed
the Colts but one hit, while the Ar
mours collected six off of Hatchen.
The Armours also staged three double
plays.
