HOGS There was a decent Monday run
of hogs here, 106 load, or 7,704 hesd, being .
reported In. This I 1,600 head larger than
last week and a few hundred heavier than
two week ago, hut amaller than for the
corresponding Monday of laat year by over
1,000 head,
Outside demand waa pretty fair again this
morning, and upward of twenty loada of
hog were bought early on shipping account.
Am waa the caae on last week close, how
ever, a bearish set of packer buyer enabled
shipper to get all the hoga they wanted
ateady, and In fact anma of tnelr purchase
were If anything a little lower.
The packer market waa a tower deal
right from the start. Early blda of a nickel
to, In apota. 10 rent lower were promptly
turned down, aellera believing that ahlp-
plng competition wa atrong enough to mak
killers come to time. Buyers did not seem
to be worrying about this, however, and
wheat other market began reporting declines
of a nickel or more aslesmen gave up the
fight and started selling hog on a 5-cent
lower basis. Movement never became real
lively, but once started waa fairly continu
ous nd the big end of th hog waa cleaned
up before 10 o clock.
General market wa mostly I cent lower
than she close of last week, decline being
noted on everything except some of th hlp-
per purchase. Hulk of tne sale waa made
at $9.269 40, and several losd reached
$9 46. Current prices are the lowest elnc

Aa wta predicted at tha cloae of last

at lower levels from now on, a.nd this

rounds very few blda were placeu. and
when huyera finally did start out It waa

50c to In extreme caeca $1.00 lower than

to them to make concession of some sort,
but refused to cut loose at the reductions
buyers were asking without first putting up
a light, and Ihe forenoon paaaed with noth
