Mr, Wayne H C'opeland and Miss Mabel Norgaard were the attendants. Mr. and Mrs Oyster will make their home in Coun til Bluffs. There will be a called meeting of the Federated Mothers' club held at the library Monday afternoon at 2:30 o clock. Details for the May festival will be settled at that time and re ports from the various mothers' clubs be given. The Madison Avenue Mothers' club met at the school house Thursday atternoon. flans for the school pic nic to be held June 3 at Fairmount park were made, and officers for the coming year elected. During the social hour the mothers presented the teachers with a little gift, n delightful musicale wat given Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. W. L. Douglas, under the umpires of the (iirls' Friendly so ciety of St. Paul's church. Mrs. Karl Kehrer, Mrs. C L. Stratton, Miss Margaret Powers, Mr. Pitt of Oma ha and Mr. Milton D. Clark gavo vo cal numbers and Miss Kiger gave violin solos, and a pianologue was given by Miss Bess Battey. Miss T hora Lefferts and Miss Margaret Goodwin danced and readings were contributed by Miss Cora Gretzer and Mrs. Dollie Burgess. The Daughters of the American Revolution held their annual meeting Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. E. P. Schoentgen. As a result ot the election Mrs. E. P. bchoent cen was made president, Mrs. W. I Stillman, vice president: Mrs. Frank Pinney, recording secretary; Miss Mollie Rice, corresponding secretary; Mrs. John Melhop, jr., treasurer; Mrs. Drayton W. Bushnell regis trar; Miss Caroline Dodge, historian; Mrs. Mathew W. Jinley, auditor; Mrs. J. W. Squires, chaplain. The committee of safety was composed of Mrs. Robert H. Wallace, Mrs. An geline Brinsmaid and Miss Mary P, Denny. A report of the national con tinental congress, held in Washing ton in April, was given by Mrs. R. C Francis, who represented the local chapter there. Miss Alice French of Davenport, state president of the Colonia' Dames, was guest of honor of the chapter and made a talk, de livering the greetings of the Colonial D.irpes. The year's work will close with a luncheon to be held at the Boat club June 14, arrangements for which will be in charge of Mr. O, D, Wheeler, Mrs. Thomas Metcalf, sr.; Mrs. L. A. Grav, Mrs. M. C. A miscellaneous shower was given Thursday evening by Miss Grace Utterback in honor of Miss Alice Jensen, who will be married in June to Mr. James Roe. The guests were featcd at one long table, which was lovely with pink and white sweet peas, bridal wreath and little cupids. The gifts were piled at the bride's plare. The evening was spent with music and games. The Book and Thimble club held its annual meeting Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. C. Pryor on Fifth avenue. Peters entertained the mem bers of the Fourth of July celebration committee Wednesday evening at the Fontenelle building, after which it was decided by the committee to put on a celebration for the entire week, instead of the one day, and to leave the carnival privileges to Mr. Peters, he to put on at least ten shows. On the Fourth itself it was decided to put on an old-fashioned celebration, with the carnival in addition. Mrs. Mary Krisl of Lincoln was the guest of her daughter, Miss Julia Krisl, on Thursday. Frances Wiles, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. F, Wiles, won the musical event with a song, "Just for Today," while Eloisr Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. If. Thomas, won the prize in the declamatory contest. Her subject was "Personal Liberty."
