in Society Circles
Country Club Dinner-Dance.
Although the formal opening of the
Country club, scheduled for lait eve
ning, was postponed until Tuesday in
deference to the memory of Mrs,
Gut-don V. Wattles, the club house
was thrown open to a large number
of members and their friends for a
dinner-dance.
Among the dinners postponed from
Saturday to Tuesday evening are

Happy Hollow Club Opening.
Happy Hollow club lu ld a brilliant
gathering last evening when the club
season wat formally launched. Five
hundred guests attended the opening
dinner dance, for which the club
house wat profusely decorated with
rosea, carnations, pronirs and iris.
The flowers and palms and fernt
were banked on every side and lent
additional grace to the tables at which
the guests were seated.

of the marriage in that city, May 24,
of Mist Henrietta Schnctr, daughter
of Mr. and Mrt. Frank Schnet., to
Mr. Everett Stolspart, all residents
of Omaha. The bride was born in
this city and is a graduate of Central
High tchool, class of 1910. The Rev.
4ohn E. Hummon, former pastor of
ountze Memorial church, of which
the young couple are members, who
baptized and confirmed the 'bride,
also performed the marriage cere
mony in the Messiah Lutheran
church in Denver, where he it the
pastor at the present time.
The parents of the bride and Ed
ward Rasmutsen, schoolmate of the
groom, accompanied the young
couple to Denver. Mr. Rasmussen
acted as the groom's best man and
Mrt. John E. Hummon attended the
bride. Mrt. John Turtle was a guest
at the wedding.
After the ceremony the wedding
party enjoyed a banquet at the
Brown Palace hotel, covert being
laid for ten. The young people will
make their home in Omaha at 2022
Howard street after a short visit in
western Nebraska, expecting to be at
home to their friends after June IS.

of Much Interest to Nebraska Folks
An early June wedding of special
interest to University of Nebraska
and Omaha folks is that of Miss
Gertrude Welch of Shenandoah, la.,
to Earl Ernest May, formerly of
Hayet Center, Neb. Miss Welch is a
former student of the University of
Nebraska at Lincoln where she 5
a member of Kappa Kappa Gam a.

nary at Washington, D. C. Mr. May
holds an A. B. degree from Nebraska
as well as a LL. 11. He is connected
with the Mt. Arbor nurseries, of
which her father, V,. S. Welch, is
president. He is the son of Mrs, R.

Michigan university three years
where he was honored with election
to Phi Alpha Delta legal -fraternity.

A beautiful wedimg was solem
niied at Chambers' academy Sunday
evening when Miss Ida Kulakofsky,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. Kulakof
sky. became the bride of Mr. David
C. Gold ware of Ceylon, Minn. Miss
Kulakofsky was fo:nierly a teacher

palms, ferns and a huge wedding bell
was hung over the canopy under
which the ceremony was performed.
There were about 500 guests pres
ent, among whom were many out-of-town
people.
Mr. and Mrs. Gold ware left for a
two months' tour of the west.

The marriage of Mist Marie Agnes
Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N.
F. Murphy, and Mr. Walter H. Saut
ter took place Wednesday morning at
9 o'clock at Sacred Heart church,
Father Judge offieating. Mist Maud
Murphy, sister of the ortde, wat the
bridesmaid and Mr. Stepanek was
best man.
The bride wat gowned in white
Georgette crepe, with an overdrest of
radium lace, the gown being trimmed
in pearls. She carried a thower bou
quet of bride't rotet.
Mist Claire Connor played Lohen
gren's wedding march for the en
trance of the bridal party.

Betrothal Announcement!.
Mr. and Mrt. A. D. Northrup have
announced the engagement of their
daughter, Grace Gertrude, and Mr.
Wilbur Jonet, the wedding to be
celebrated June 24. Mist Northrup
is a graduate of Central High, has a
delightful mezzo-soprano voice and

duties as teacher closed F'riday and
she will leave for Omaha Sunday,
