If Bringing Up Father a r i A ROURKE WINNING ; STREAK IS BROKEN 'eiky Bean Hit in Pinchei, While ' Omaha Doein't. and Game Goer - to the Enemy. EEYKOLDS FINISHES STRONG After a blissful and gladsome ob servance of a winning streak of four consecutive, combats, the de -luxe ,Rourklets received a neat left-handed 'amack in the teeth by the pesky 'Grizzlies yesterday and went down or the count, 6 to 4. ,' A glance at the box score shows that ten of the Rourkes were left stranded on the runwsyy emitting frantic and futile E. O. S. signals for succor, while but three of the Hears were treated so shamelessly by their mates. J hat tells the tale. The Rourkes couldn t deliver when men were occupying the sacks. J Otto Mens started the fray for Omaha. Otto was treated rather shabbily by the gents from the city or cougns. in tne opening stanza after two were down, Pete Kilduff let Rebel Oakes beat ont out. Oakes was slipped a hit on it through the grace ot the oiiicial scorer. Then Butcher and Dyer followed with safeties, the latter'a a two-sacker, and two of the enemy made successful attacks on the rubber.- - - In the third a walk. Oakes' hit and ;a sacrifice fly, netted another for the opoos Hon and in the sixth four ; ' consecutive hits hy Messrs," Butcher, ;uyrr, Shields and Mevens, resulted n two more, Marka One Off North. ' Mer was finally yanked by Fore- , man rruK nn uiu worm essaped ;fo cnecit uaKes men. (Jakes greeted North in the eighth with a double land marked on Dyer's single through ine oox. j. Omaha garnered a tally In the sec- -ona on a nit oy Miner and KildufTa .double, and two In the fourth on hits by Kilduff, Thompson. Burar and Smith, an error by Kelliher and an incautious pitch By Reynolds, which Jiit Cy Forsythe'a in the slats, when the bases were choked. The home boys gathered their last tally in the seventh on a walk to Knitr. Martv's , steal of second and Kilduff s safety. Reynolds Checks Hitting. It looked like -a Hourke game at the start for Reynolds was hit hard and began to show avnmtoms of wobbling. But Doc settled down aner me lourtn and allowed but one single during the remaining five in nings. The game was slow and listless with Reynolds taking more time than an undertaker. The only feature of the game v. as a one-handed, shoe string catch by Rehel Oakes and an inexplicable play by F.ar Smith, which cost Omaha a run. Today the Topeka Raws come to Omaha. As the Raws and Rourkes are riding right together in the pen nant flight, some fur is expected to fly.
