The week Just commenced will be graced by four weddings, and there are whispers that plans of weddings for the early summer will be an nounced. A few of the girls who have an nounced their engagements have not as yet dis closed the wedding day. Tho big affair of ths week will be the annual Crecho bridge party Tuesday afternoon at the Fontenelle, always reckoned as one of the social events of tho year. Five hundred guests are ex pected and arrangements have been made to sell tickets at the door so that the eleventh hour pa tron may be taken care of and given her chance to play for charity and Incldently a handsome prize. The plan of the affair Is pivot auction bridge, not progressive. This will be the ninth annual bridge party given by the Creche board of dl tectors. At last year's party the board gave spe cial study as to what prize weemed to be most In favor with the players who make their choice much the same as drawers in a land lottery. The in tide that went first last year and was the ob jnet ot the keenest play was a crepe de chine night frock.
