held and a soda hour followed. The
hostess served a dainty four-course lunch
eon, covers being laid for twenty. The
next meeting will he held at the home of
Mrs. Charles Johnson.

ernoon at the home of Mrs. John Groom.
A two-oourse luncheon waa served by
the hostess. The "cut-for-all" prize was
won by Mrs. Oeorgs dues. The club will

and others. Mrs. J. J. Sullivan gavs a
brief description of the Church of St.
Mary, dating from the middle agea and
distinguished In architecture by hsnd

son gave an Interesting description of
Holman Hunt's famous painting, "Thi
Light of the World," in Keble college
Chapel, based on the scriptural passage,

Tho next meeting will bo held May 1 at
the home of Mrs. Sullivan.
Mrs. A, M. Jackson and Mrs. J. R. Reed
were hostesses of the Oarden club Tues
day afternoon, ths meeting being held at
the home of Mrs. Jackson on Fourth
Street. Mrs. Reed gave an Interesting
paper on spraying, tolling of the vari
ous was in which It might be done and
of the value of tho process In keeping
plants, shrubs and treea free from blight

reported that they had flowers In their
gardens, tulips, hyacinths and crocuses,

Mrs. Gone Hall celebrated her Mrthday
Monday, a number of friends arriving be
fors the luncheon hour to tender their
oongrat illations. The guests brought
luncheon with them and also presented
the hostess with a pretty set of cut glass
