Everybody in Town Is Wearing Green Whether thera were ever any snakes In Ireland, and whether the patron saint had anything to do with their removal. it was quite evident yeaterday that there were plenty of loyal Irishmen in Council Bluffs. Ureen of every hu was shining In all directions, shedding Its rays from real and silken shamrocks, flashing from fluttering ribbons worn by men and women, girls and boys and by babies trundled along by their mothers. Thousands who had not a tinge of an cestral Irlah blood In their veins found real joy in "wearTn- o'. the green." The crowd waa so good-natured that even Traffto Officer Weimar, who. la so Ger man that he Is closely related to Bis marck, was not mobbed when he admitted that the Germans had given grounds for International complications by putting German carp In the River Shannon. March 17.-The Cu dahy Packing company today operated under condlttona almllar to veaterday when tha hog killing and cutting depart ment was idle. Threats of strike leaders to effect a general strike of the plant did not materialise. Officials of the packing bouse believe that the strike leaders have lost their Influence over the workers, because they say there Is no reason for walking out. All employes with the exception of tho discharged men ara satisfied, said Super intendent D. A.; Cameron. ihs hog killing and cutting department probably will not be In shape for oper ations for several weeks. The depart ment Is being renovated, repairs are being- made, new benches and other apparatus Is being Installed. Resolutions condemning tha policy of tha packing house officials and extend ing sympathy to employes of the park ing plants were adopted by the Trades and Labor assembly at l-alior temple in the presence of a committee of three striking Cudahy butchers, who yester day iff used to return to work. 7,926 CATTLE Cuttle were in light supply as usual on a Saturday, there being noth ing of any Importance, in eight. For the week receipts have been very liberal, al though running a little behind last week. The market, which had advanced very rapidly during the thieo- weeks previous, suffered considerable reaction. Pretty decent to common kinds of cattle, that Is, cattle aelllng undo.- 39.00, are around 2f((ll."o lower now than at last week'a rlose. The choicest cattle, selling above 39.00, havo shown much lesa decline, being In most canes no more than lOJ'lic lower at tho worst. Cows and heifers have suffered in about the same proportion as beef steera, being on an avcrago right around 2oc lower. Stockers and feeders of good quality and good breeding have been In active demand all the week, and prices on such are steady to strong. The less desirable kinds of stockers and feeders have been more or loss neglected and have been In fluenced by the breag in beef steers, ao that they are a little lower than a week ago. The week's total is 82,2X6 head, a gain of 16 (W over last week I.I.ikm larger tliun two weeks ago and 3.0i4) heavier than for the same week last year. Shippers and two or three of the packer buyers were In the field fairly early buy ing the better clafioes of lions at price that were steady to a little lower than the early trade yeaterday, soma sales looking as much as 5c lower. The market was. however, an exact repetition of yes terday s, for one of the packers attain laid out, and another quit after buying a lev loads, ao that alter part of the hogs had been old prlcea slumped exactly as they did yesterday. After something like two-thirds of the hogs had been cleaned up the weakness aet in, and front then it waa an extremely sticky proposition. Rids dropped to fully 10c below early prlct. In fait some sell era had never been aide to get bids on the early trade, and before the close even more decline than that was quoted In some cases. No. TO . 7.. 87.. 71.. it.. 4 . 2.. The graphic chart shows that more and more farm homes are coming to appreciate this great farm weekly. It is read by over twice as many farm homes as any other weekly farm paper in Omaha's trade territory. It is quite significant that the Twentieth Century Farmer is the most interesting and most popular farm paper covering this rich farming section. It proves that the Twentieth Century Farmer is The Missouri Valley's Greatest Farm Paper
