This winds up a week of extremely
moderate supplies, the six days' total
being only 66,966 head, a falling off of
4,000 head as compared with laat week.

Th McPherson Avenue Improvement
club ha Issued a call for a meeting
Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs.
P. E. Dunbar, at 1:30 o'clock. The pur
pose 1 a general discussion of the pro
gram that will be followed for the spring
and summer activities of the club.
A the club la composed almost exclu
sively of women, the meeting: Monday
afternoon will be attended by women
only. While discussing their plans for
future work they will mass aprons, to
be sold at some of the future fete. The
money 1 to be used to increase the
club's Improvement fund. Last year the
club raised about 31.000, which was used
for the permanent Improvement of Mc
Pherson avenue. The women ara now
planning to raise a cash fund for Im
mediate use. They want to hare a
large quantity of cinders placed on th
road south of the city limits.
The club has been chiefly responsible
for making McPherson avenue one of the
best of the principal thoroughfares lead
ing; into the city.

band, Arthur Edlnbrough, with cruelty.
They were married in Des Moines, July
20. 191L and separated December 15, 1915.
Marriage was a failure for Qretchen
Mtnear and William Earl Minear. They
were married In Buffalo. Wyo.. October
10, MM, and came to Council Bluffs In
April, 1912. She charges cruelty and non
support. Ehe alleges her husband is
capable of earning about 1100 per month
and aks the court to require him to pay
a reasonable attorney's fee.

Ella Stewart, the Chicago woman who
ha come here to present the equal uf
frage proposition to the people of Coun
cil Bluff. Mr. Henry Preton Whlto of
Boston Is presenting the opposite side.
Mrs. Stewart spoke to a large audience
last night at th public library building
and Mr. White held a number of In
formal discussion.
Mr. White i a practical politician and
knows what to do and where to do it.
Several days ago she appealed to a num
ber of local antl-auffraglst here for In
formation a to th best way to ecur
chance to address th German voter of
the county. No one waa able to auggeat
a good plan until she appealed to former
Mayor Rohrer. He called up Editor An-
drua of the Frle Pretse and arranged
for an interview. In a few hour plan
were worked out and put Into execution
Circular and poster were sent all over
the county and published In tha German
newspaper, arranging for date for meet
ings to be addressed by Mr. Whit. -
The first of thes meeting will be held
at Arton hall. In thla city, next Wednes
day evening. The advertisement an'
nounc that Mr. White will apeak under
the auspice of the Son of Herman. She
haa refused to meet Mra. Stewart In de
bate, asserting that she want to do all

by arranging for numerous meetings at
the Carnegie library assembly room and
prompting the pastors to deliver sermon
on the need ot good care for the children.
The program at the assembly room were

DENISON A deep well 1 being dug at
this place to find water to aupply the
city. A depth of 1.810 feet ha been
reached and a flow of 200 gallons a min
ute of good water obtains, which is con
sidered satisfactory. A large surface
reservoir will be constructed, from which
water will be punipej to the high tang
at the north side of the city limits.

merclai club. In session here last evening
at the McBrlde cafe, discussed the Illi
nois Central dairy train to be here at
