The corn receipts continue heavy 104
cars being reported In. The demand for
this cereal waa only fair and sold un
changed to le higher, the better grades
selling at ths sdvanced price.

Clearances were: Wheat and flewr

bushels; oats. 878,000 bushels.

Notwithstanding that during the first
hour snd a half of theveston the wheat
bulls appeared to have almost onmoiete
control of the market they withdrew sup
port as soon as tne raot necame evident
that early signs of continued liberal buy
ing for Europe were not likely to be ful
filled, at least not without some dels v.
It was than that tha burden of profit
tsklng by longs and of aggressive selling
by speculative bears led to a crash In
values, and left the market nearly flat

level. In addition to the apparent letup of
export buying, advicea from the south
west that told of free country marketing
of wheat tended to unnerve the bulls.
The largest consignments of wheat In

It was only the scarcity of cars that

hands from becoming an avalanche. In
this connection the ststement was added

Coarse grains were depressed by the
break in wheat. Previously the corn mar
ket had been on the u parade, owing to
ths removal of embargoes on shipments
to Baltimore and aa a result of bullish

Oats at first were inclined to advance
on account of talk of a good demand at
tha seaboard. Weaknesa. though, set In

Pork suffered from heavy liquidation
by longs. Lard and ribs, on the con
trary, were free to respond to higher
prices on hogs.
