when asked about It Bagby cursed th as

get out of th ward tf he didn't like the
way Bagby wa running It. Bagby was
transferred to another ward but never
discharged.

bers of the Switchmen's union em
ployed on the Wabash railroad sys
tem went out on a strike at
o'clock last night. ,
According to S. F. Heberllns,
president of the Switchmen's union,
all of the 600 union men employed
by the Wabash, obeyed the strike
order. According to the railroad
officials, only 150 to 200 men were
affected, and their places have been
filled by switchmen who belong to
the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.

incomplete bridge was the cause of the

tain damages.

rency shipped from Washington for

John Harrison, owner of the
blacksmith shop, was arrested sev
eral days age and Is being held for
transfer to West Virginia on a charge
of having placed in Jeopardy with a
weapon the mall clerk on the train
and also of having stolen currency
In his possession. A fruit jar con

notes had been unearthed previously.

Idly widening lake In southeastern Arkan
sas, formed by th flood water of the

great flood lake, nearly forty miles long
snd twenty miles wide. From It only the
upper stories of buildings tn Arkansas
City protrude. At the levee are three
steamboats ready to carry the plucky
fighters to safety should they loose their
battle with th flood.
