SHKKP Sheep and lamb supplies wore
Ihe smalleit for a Wednesday since the
ciav lH-fore Thanksgiving, bit at that
were quite a bit larger than for the cor
responding day a year aijo. About twen-tv-eltftit
cars. r .7i) hend. showed P.
bringing tha (4al for the week up to S2.vt
head, aa compared with .,vj Inst week,
1.7tJ two weeks ago and D.r.M a year ago.
Supplies this week hsve been fur larger
than usual for the week before Christmas.
The lamb market was a very erratic
affair, and while some strength was
shown on a few choice offerings, bulk of
the supply, which was of pretty plain
quality sold no better thsn slesdy. some
nates being quoted as weak to a little
lower. A packer paid a lop of .t for
rne prima lot, but aside from this one
sale not much moved above t 60 and the
bulk was bought between thnt price and
t. . The movement waa fairly active
and a clearance made In good seHson.
Muttons found slack demand agnln
today, and while offerings of ewes were
generally of pretty fair quality prices
were in spots as much as 10c lower, al
though one or two bunches were quoted
as nearly steady. Best ees here sold at
tJ.70. and as they were of a pretty good
class It Is doubtful If tops are quotable
any higher than that.
No lambs of real feeder weights were
offered. Hunches that moved at St. 11
were fa r r weighty and would ontlnarliy
be considered shearing lambs, hut were
taken out aa feeders.

to a pause in the export buying. There

At first, the wheat market showed an
upward tendency, on account of higher

MAKES SHORT WORK OP GREEK
A i
There Is no coryrtght on thl scissors
hold and Joe Steelier of Dodga, Neb., Isn't
the only wrestler In the world who em
ploys thla very effective grip to tha Im
mediate discomfort of opponent
This wnn demonstrated Tuesday at
tha auditorium by Charlei Peters, a
leading clllien ot Papillion, Peter en
gaged In a little wrestling bout with a
Greek named Otis Kuvaros. Peter took
the first fall In the sweet and brief time
of two minute and a half, and th second
fall In twenty-ieven minutes and forty-
five second; And both were via tha
famous scissors rout.
Nobody had previously slipped Omaha
mat fans the Information that Peter waa
an expert with the aclsson hold, but
they quickly learned It last night.
When Referee . Tamlalra called time.
Peter and Kuvaro shook hands and
started a little preliminary prancing
about tha gquared clrcl to feel etveh
other out a bit. After two minutes of
thin sparring Peter grabbed a loose
beam of Mr. Kuvaro underpinning In
other word hi left leg and flopped the
Oroek to hi hand and knees on the mat.
Two seconds later he was astrideXuvaros
with both leg wrapped around tight. It
waa the deadly clors hold, applied and
executed In a regular Stec.her manner.
Fan Are Startled.
Tli gathering- of wrestling followers
present war too startled to applaud. It
waa another thirty leoond before they
realised what Peter was doing. And
by tha time they did coma to a realisation
Peters had turned Kuvaro flat on his
back with the game kind Ot arm-lock
Stecher employa.
It looked Ilk Stecher all over except
that Peters la lighter and 1 not
possessed ot the huge hands. ' muscular
arma and powerful legs th Dodga
wlaard I.
Kuvaro eame back for th second tilt
In a very belligerent manner. He ruahed
at Peter and appeared to be anmewhat
angry over th ahort time of th first
fall. Peter held him off and played with
him for twenty minute. During that
time both wrestler remained on their
feet
Greek Sejnlrm Oat.
Suddenly Peter forced Kuvaro! to th
pad and started after tha scissors. By
a mighty effort Kuvaro managed to
elude the hold and wriggle free before It
was applied. II regained his feet.
Five minute later the Greek threw
Peter to the mat, but Peter put on a
burst of speed, gave a neat exhibition of
rolling and rolled right out of th Greek'
grip. He also rolled on top of th Greek
and once mora started to put on the
scissors. This tlm h waa guecaaaful
and fifty or sixty seconds ot the scissors
sufficed. Tha Nebraska lad t limed the
Greek over and pinned hi houldera
hard. Just aa he did In th first tussl.
Peter looked like a wonder to the
Omaha fan laat night, and It look vary
much aa If Jo Stecher will find him
a rival for popularity In th future.
Th Teddy brother, rub wrestler, put
on their klt, and a preliminary bout bo
tween Joa Miller of Omaha and Frank
Lang hr Detroit? ' resulted la ah mn
break, both lad winning a fall.
