U.S. Hears Grants
of Huerta Revoked
by Chief Carranza
WASHINGTON. Dec. I4.-Formal no
tlce of the nullification by General Car
ranza of "all ' acta, contracts and con
cessions" of the Huerta and convention
1st governments in Mexico, reached the
Mcxica embassy here today from Mexico
City.
The order. In line with an announce
ment of his intention by General Car
ranza several months ago, la effective.
It notified individuals and corpora
tions holding concessions granted by
Huerta and conventlonlst government of
ficials that It will be necessary for them
to make new applications exactly as
though no such concessions had hereto
fore existed.
The embassy also was advised today
that persons charged with' sedition In
Mexico would be tried by the Carranza
government under the special law of 1862,
which gives suthortty for Imposition of
the death penalty and allows no appeal,
Permission waa granted today by the

opportunity to close up three sides of I buyers and appeared to be acting on
the rectangle In which General Villa Is
operating. The fourth side is the Ameri
can boundary line.
Villa with most of the force of 4,000,
with which he arrived at Madera, Sat
urday, continues to move closer to the
southern side of the rectangle and is
i-x pec ted at Chihuahua tomorrow ac
cording to the department's advices. He
is said to be without adequate supplies.
Obregon has a large force concentrated
a short distance south of Chihuahua.
CHICAGO GRAIN AND PROVISIONS
Featares of the Trading; and Closing;
Prices on Board of Trade.
CHICAGO Dec. 14. Heavy profit tak
ing by longs, woh asserted tbat the gov
ernment crop report tomorrow was likely
to prove bearish, wiped out the greater
part of a lively advance scored today in
the wheat msrket here. The cloae was
heavy at a net gain of ViS'lHc. w'th De
cember at $1.164 and May at $1.17 1.17.
Other final results were: Corn, unchanged
to Ho off; oats, unchanged to lie up,
and provisions unchanged to 40c higher.
The setback that ensued from tse top
level of tbesession was most apparent In
the May option. December contracts re
mained comparatively firm, owing to
fears that a strike In progress on the
Chicago Belt railway might interfere with
current deliveries and especially as the
stock on hand in Chicago Is small. .
Word that the movement of wheat
from' first-hands In the northwest had
seriously fallen off had considerable to
do with the strength which th market
here displayed during 'the first half of
tho day. It was also contended that the
bulk of wheat In Buffalo or afloat there
estimated at 23,000,000 buahels had al
ready been sold for export.
Corn sympathized to a limited extent
with the wheat advanre, hut waa kept
easy by clear, cold weather that favored
hufcklng shipping.
Trade In oats was mainly of a local
character.
