Judge Whose Wife
Killed in Quarrel
Put Under Arrest
MORRILLTON. Ark.. Nov. 28.-A war
rant charge of aanault with intent to
kill has been Issued for Eugene Rhoden,
county judge, who was shot by T. J.
Klsalre, Rhodens fsther-ln-law, follow
ing ths alleged killing yesterday of Mrs.
Rhoden by Mr. Klsnlre. Judge Rhoden
now is in a hospital in Llttl Rock.
In a quarrel between Judge Rhoden
and hi wife, who wit at her father's
home, Judge Rhoden attempted to atrlk
Mr. Rhoden, it Is charged. Klsaire, at
tempting to shoot Judie Rhoden, killed
Mrs. Rhoden. A second shot from Kls
sires shotgun shattered Rhodens left
arm.
Before a coroner's Jury Kllre testi
fied that he attempted to kill Judge
Rhoden "In defense of hla home," and
that the killing of Mra. Rhoden was
accidental. Klesire wa exonerated by
the coroner"a Jury, following which the
warrant for Judge Rhoden was Isaued.
Mrs. Rhoden, In addition to her husband,
leaves three children.
Man, Wife, Daughter
and Son Drowned in
Lake at Cody, Wyo.
CHETENNE, Wyo., Nov. 25. Alex Mo
Coul, sged 64, his wlfs, 11-year-old son
and t-year-old daughter wer drowned In
a lake near their ranch horn last Sun
day, according to a message from Cody,
Wyo., today. Th drowning wa wit
neased by three other children, aged 7, 4
and I years. Nona of th surviving chil
dren could glv a coherent story of th
accident, saying their mother and 1W
brother broke through th 1c.
Th 4-year-old child attempted to tele
phone to a neighbor and wa unabl to
mak himself understood. When recov
ered th bodies of Mr. snd Mrs. McCoul
wer olasped in each other's arms.
PROMINENT KENTUCKY
MINISTER UNFROCKED
LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 26.-l.pon his
conviction, by twelve members of his
own conference upon charges of Indiscre
tions, Rev. B. F. Chatham, a prominent
minister of central Kentucky, was todsy
expelled from the Kentucky Methodist
conference and ministry. It wa charged
that Chatham had been guilty of indis
cretions with a prominent woman of
Mtddlesboro, Ky., but he denied his
guilt. Chatham waa suspended last Sep
tember when the charges were first filed.
