CHICAGO. Nov. 19. War difficulties which threatened virtual stop to ship ments for Medlterrlan ports reaulted to day in lowering the wheat market her. Prices, although steady at the close, waa 4o to 4yo down, with December. $1.04. and May, 11.06. Corn showed a gain of 14c to 4c Provlalona finished unchanged to 30c higher. Declines in wheat began ahortly after the opening, which on account of higher flucuation at Liverpool waa ellgh'v in favor of the bulls. Unloading here by holders, however, soon grew general, and during the rest of the day the market displayed at no time any important power to rally. Bulla were noticably prominent throughout the sessions by reports that activities of hostile submarines were chiefly responsible for Italian vessels can celling trips from United Htatea. bearish feeling waa further emphasized by aaser tlona that the much wheat bought for Greece was likely to be resold on this side of the Atlantlo, as cotracts to ship the grain had become next to impossible to fulfill.
