TKKINO. Nor. 6. President Yuan flhl

Peace, to re-establish th monarchy, but
failure of th government to uphold the
board of censor In tb Impeachment of
the- member of th society, U generally
legal (led a proof that the noclety baa
the full approval of the president and
hie adviser.
The board of censor, which I ft sort
of govcnnent-s-nelllng committee, sus
tained charge brought against the Chou
An Huel, and the government referred
the Impeachment to the minister of the In
tenor. This cabinet member ha now re

roclety are men of cuHun and scholar
of not etyl that their object I to enrage
In theoretical dlwrtisslcn of the principle
of government, and not In any way to
disturb the peace of th country.
Special Intereet attache now to move
ment of Oeneral Tuan Chl-Jul, th for

opponent of the restoration of th moih

that Oeneral Tuan Eht-Jul was assassin

However, th president graciously re

Thl extension of greater freedom to
the vice president 1 generally believed
to hae come about a a result of hi re
fusal to participate In th monarchical
movement. For ft time It seemed that h
would be an open opponent of th re
storation of th monarchy. Hi lack of
sympathy with th change I understood
throughout th republic, and hi greater
freedom I believed to be the price the
government paid for hi silent scqules
ence. Religion and religious organisation are
also plsylng an Important part In the
monarchical movement. Effort have
been mad by the Soc'ety for the Pres
ervation of Peace to get th support of
prominent religionist. But th announce
ment that Mohammedan who Joined the
society were authorised to do so by the
Mutual Advancement Society of Moham

t hang Tlen-tao and twenty-two other
leader In th Mohammedan society Im
mediately published an announcement
denying th authority of any member to
represent thst body In any political
movement and hotly resenting the at

Most of the Mohammedan In China
