YALE AND HARYARD
FACE HARD TESTS
Elevens Which Have Both Met De
feat Will Find Leu Famons
Teams Difficult to Beat.
COLGATE AS YET UNDEFEATED
NEW TORK. Oct. .-The foot bell
elevens of Yale and Harvard, both of
which have suffered defeat thl fall, face
another hard teat tomorrow. Tha Ella
will meet the unconquared and uneeored
on Colgate team while the Crimson plays
Pennsylvania State, victors over Pennsyl
vania. Amonc the other foot ball leadera In
the east Princeton will tackle Williams;
Cornell will have Virginia Polytechnlo as
Its opponent at Ithaca; Lafayette will In
vade Philadelphia and meet Pennsyl
vania; Dartmouth lines up against Am
herst, VlUa Nova faces tha Army and
the North Carolina Axglea will try to
sink tha Navy.
Unless Tale shows a remarkable Im
provement In form, Colgate Is likely to
make the meeting between the two teams
at New Haven an Interesting one for the
Blue. Tha Hamilton eleven has proved
m a powerful scoring machine this season
and in tha four games to date has rolled
up 308 points to their opponents' sero.
With tha Princeton content only two
weeks away Tale must begin to develop
tha full extent of Its power and It may
be tha EXla will rise to the occasion to
morrow. From the records of the two
teams this fall, Colgate is a logical
favorite, but the Blue has plenty of
power and material for a strong com
bination If the team can find itself.
Harvard Has Hard Game.
Harvard succeeded In holding Pennsyl
vania State to a tie game last season,
but will face a harder problem tomor
row since the Crlsmson squad Is not as
strong as in 1914. while Pennsylvania
Stat has given plenty of evidence of Its
power this autumn by defeating Pennsyl
vania and scoring a one-sided victory
over its other opponents. Cornell ex
posed the weak points in the Cambridge
combination last Saturday and tha de
feat at the hands of the Ithaca, players
probably has been beneficial to the Crim
son. Players and coaches alike may be
expected to be on edge In this contest
and it is not unlikely that Harvard will
coma back strong against Pennsylvania
State, making the outcome of tha game
problematical.
The leading- gamea in tha east tomor
row with the scores of the 114 contests,
where the same Institutions met on the
gridiron, are as follows:
Colgate at Tale. T to 49.
Penn State at Harvard. IS to IS.
Virginia Poly at Cornell, did nut play.
Williams at Princeton, 7 to 7.
lAfayette at Pennsylvania, 0 to 0.
Villa Nova at Army, 0 to 41.
North Carolina Aggies at Navy, 14 to 18.
Dartmouth at Amheret, SZ to 0.
Vermont at Brown, 9 to 29.
Rutrera against Springfield at Newark,
did not play.
Gettysburg at Lehigh, did not play. ,
Rhode Island at Union, did not play.
Allegheny at Pittsburgh, did not play.
Worcester Poly at Wealeyan, 0 to 14.
Lebanon at Ursinus, did not play.
Colby at Maine university, 14 to 0.
