NEBRASKA'S biggest asset
is the South Omaha Live
Stock Market. It means more
millions to Nebraska than any
other business enterprise. ;
J)URING 1914 nearly seven
million head of live stock,
worth $150,000,000.00, were
handled at the South Omaha
market. The packing estab
lishments at South Omaha
annually manufacture more
than $100,000,000 worth of
meat products and other com
modities. J)URING 1914 the Union
Stock Yards Co. handled
938,817 cattle, 2,258,620 hogs,
3,113,889 sheep, 30,688 horses,
a total of 83,139 cars. During
the year all records for prices
were broken.
