("LUCILE")
UST a few words to gtre a hint oX th new Fall Fashions. Hera
i one of the new aklrU and tight bodices that mark some of them.
The akirt la In graded bands ot silk. The little fur-trimmed
shoulder wrap Is also one of the new and charming oddities. This
model shows the high collar, as does the coat pictured in the centre of
th page. The coat is of black satin trimmed with gold braid and
lined with tussore. The military not clings to the new Fall fashions.
It is accentuated by the tight-fitting hat and the military plumes.
Over on the right the charming little model shows on of th long
fur-edged tunics which tn combination with th brilliant blue waist of
this dress is extremely effective.
Down at the left is one of the low collars on a trim walking dress
of blue gabardine. The collar is whit and embroidered; th tie ct
yellow, blue and green. A belt of patent leather completes th
costume.
Soon I shall show you some of th new gorgeous bats and the mors-gorgeous-than-ever
brocades and fabrics that will make Milady of th
Fall and Winter more ilk a Bird of Paradls than ever.
For one thing, fur Is used In combination with velvets, embroideries,
laces and brocades to present a most unusual and striking effect. This
was, of course, foreshadowed last season by Its us as edging. This
year, however, fur actually takes Its place as a fabric.
The thing to be avoided 1s the creation of a "patch-Cjuilt" effec;
Otherwise It is astonishing how lovel these bits of pelts appeal
tn conjunction with the rarest ot laces sod th most barbaric of
-trimmings."
