Wheat price showed a decided milgo
soon after the opening, but not until a
burst of selling at the start had car
ried values values sharply lower. Tha
temporary gag was chiefly due to big
leceiot at the leading spring crop ter
minals. Reports quickly became current,
however, that such large amounts of
spring wheat had been contracted for
that a few days' delay from wet weather
otherwise might make it phyilnally Im
posalble to fulfill bargains. Assertions
though that the ensuing advance had
f riven serious check to export business
ed afterward to reactions, In which most
of the gains disappeared.
Stocks of wheat failed to enlarge as
rapidly mn many traders seemed to have
looked for. In this connection a good
deal of notice was taken of the fact that
supplies afloat for Great Britain and In
store at Liverpool showed a decrease very
unusual at this season. In the dnmestla
vis hie supply the Increase was consid
erably lean than half tho gain at the
rorrexpondlng time a year ago.
Corn displayed weakness throughout
the day. Many reports were received thst
the growing crop was making wonderful

against sulphured shipment apparently

Trading in provisions futures was at a

Stockers and feeders of good quality
wore also lar from plentiful, and lor
that reason they sold in about last
week's notohee. The medium kinds,
however, were very slow and any whore

buyers started out at the very beginning
bidding sharply lower prices.
