Jack Hughes Wins Golf Championship of the Field Club Jack Hughes, former state champion, won the golf championship of the Field club Sunday by defeating M. H. La Dou ceur in the final round, 7 up and 6 to play. For years Hughes has been striv ing for the Field club honor, but never until this year has he been successful, Tha play Sunday was for thirty-six holes, but Hughes' gams was so superior to that of LaDouceur that the match was over when the thirtieth hole was played. Hughes played a good, steady gams. His drives were straight and true, his ap proach shots nicely laid and putts clev erly executed, and he deserved to win the coveted honor. The field club tourney was featured by several upsets of the dope. Both Bam Reynolds and Bill Chambers, who were favorites to land In the finals, were put out in the second round.
