LICK BREEN PLATS STAR GAME
After being outlueked, outhit and out
played In the first same of a double
header yesterday, the Rourkes returned
to their winning stride In the second af
fray and mauled the Tig-era In becoming
style. Score, flret game. Lincoln, ;

Contest No. 1 opened with Lincoln get
ting three scorea on four hlta and two
errors, while In the second Inning the
Tigers amassed a Ilka number on the
same amount of biffs. Including a home
run by Mclntyre, and a sacrifice fly.
In the third Bverdon for Omaha hit
one over the right field fence for the cir
cuit, ' and In the sixth three singles
brought the home club still another.
Omaha's last scoring was accomplished
in round eight, when two more were
added to the total on four singles.
Hoffman Dora Well.
Hoffman In contest No. I pitched in
good form,;havlng It on his rival, Morse,
In every particular except steadiness,
Morse not emitting a single pass, while
Hoffman issued three.
Throughout -the entire afternoon not a
single base was stolen in either game,
owing to the excellent backstopplng on
both sides. In fact, no one came close to
stealing, for which fact much credit Is
dua particularly to Krueger of Omaha,
who caught the straight eighteen Innings.
A feature worthy of particular mention
was the work of Shortstop McQafflgan
of Lincoln, who accepted thirteen chances
during the day In whirlwind fashion,
making a cleancut play of every chance.
Hla work was perfect.
Breen Stars for Omaha.
Breen for Omaha more than duplicated
this performance by taking eighteen
chances without a wobble and besides
getting five hits out of nine trips to the
plate. In fact, his playing was the big
noise of the afternoon.
The second game was cleancut from
gong to finale.- both sides playing more
than exceptional ball. This afternoon an
other double-header Mill take place, the
first game starting at 2 o'clock. Lincoln
wlli again take the role of the opposi
tion. Score, first game:

John W. Redlck,' veteran player of- the
Country club, defeated 8am V.' Reynolds,
title holder for the Nebraska state golf
championship at the Country club yes
terday, t up and S to go, on the thirty
six holes.
And by defeating tha Field club crack
Redlck evened up an old score. In 1912
ReynoVs and Redlck met In the final
round for the state emblem and that
time Reynolds won. I up and T. This
time' it was the other way round and
Redlck won br almost as large a snore.
' From th very start it was erldent
that Redlck was out to win. On the
first nine holes plsyed he got the Jump
on Sam and was leading t up. From
that time on he was never headed, but
kept gradually Increasing Ms lead.
Reynolds starting by taking the first
hole, but ' In-order to do so he had to
hole In three, one under par.. Redlck
played ' the second hold In pr four and
Reynolds 'halved with him. But 'on the
third Reynolds took a five while Redlck
holed -in par four and the fourth ' was
halved with rar five.

On the fifth-hole Redlck scored a par
five whl!e Reynolds hsd to be content
with a six and from that time on Redlck
maintained a lead.
. Ha shot the seventh hole In two. one

ninth with the title holder. Redlck's
total for ths first outside wss 3, one
under rar.
On the Inside he turned In a 5. taking
three holea of the nine, while Sam took
two. This gave. Redick three up on
Reynolds on the first eighteen holes.
Starting ths afternoon round the first
hole on the outside was halved and Rey-r-M
up one when he mads the
second hole In par four to Redlck's six.
Lui, tne third bote- was halved and Red
lck won the fourth and fifth hy playing
both in four. . This put Reynolds four
down.
Reynolds braced again, took the. sixth,
halved the seventh and took the eighth,
making It but two down. But Redlck
made it three again by taking the ninth
hole with a par three. ,
-Takes Three gtralcht. '
Then Redfok took the tenth,, eleventh
and twelfth and halved the thirteenth.
making it hla match. IJe. played par
golf on all four holes.
Redlck plsyed a great game- of, golf.
Ha played a good, steady, consistent
game and he deserved 1q win, He, out
played Reynolds on Sam's strongest fort,
bis driving. Both Reynolds and Redlck
were inclined to miss hard putts at times
and both would have turned in bl(fger
scores if luck had at . all broken with
them when making twelve and fifteen-
foot putts.
A large gallery, probably 250 persons.
followed the afternoon plsy, but their
press nee never bothered Redlck for a
minute a- nV-played -'--better gams
with ths gallery following than in the
morning when the gallery was but a
doaen or so. Reynolds also played a
nice, game, but it wasn't ths equal of
Redlck's.

Consequently th Foshler-Enger com
