Light Receipts Raise the Price of
Cash Wheat Two Cents on i

Light receipts and an active demand
sent cash wheat 2 cents higher today.
There was some improvement shown In
the receipts of corn today and there was
a pretty good demand for the commercial
grades of mixed corn. The white and
yellow corn did not sell so readily and
the market was quoted VU V" lower. Oats
receipts were twenty-one cars, but there
was sn active demand for that cereal
and the market sold ftHo higher.
A more abnormal wheat market was
never seen In the pit. With a bumper
crop on hand It Is dangerous to sell wheat
short because deliveries cannot be made.
The unsettled weather has cut off farm
work and the wheat Is either standing In
the field uncut or la In the ahock, where ,
there la danger of losses by sprouting.

The shipper market la an uncertain
proposition at beat, but It came nearer
to being a Chinese puxsle this morning
than anything seen for a long time. As
a genoral thing hogs that could be Hated
ua strictly shipping grades, that la, light
and light mixed klnda, sold at prlcee that
were in nearly every instance a plckel
lower than yesterday, and poslble more
than that In some cases. On the other
hand, shipper buyers took quite a num
ber of the butcher weights) to fill out
their droves,- and prices on these were

while there waa quite a sprinkling ss
high as $7 SO yesterday, very little sold
above $7.20 today, although tha top
reached $7.40.
Packer trade firmed up thla morning,
and when once under way, hoga sold
largely on a strong baals. The movement
wss far from active at any time, but a
fair clearance had been made before 11
o'clock. A big string sold at $7.90, with
very few to packers over this price, am

to $7.90.

no effect on the feeder trade, and prices
on feeder stock are actually higher, some
reaching 87.86 yesterday, as against a
