of musical ami declamatory numbers will
be given at the Oakes Methodlat church
at Twentieth and Oak streets. The medals
at this contest will be awarded by Rev.
T. C. Webster.

worker In the Social Settlement, and a
mem"her of the Women's Christian Tem
perance union, will leave soon for Cali
fornia and the expositions.
Tho twenty-sixth annual P. E. O. con
vention came to a successful close Fri
day after a three days' session in the
First Presbyterian church at Pullerton.
There were 100 persons seated In the con
vention which van presided over by Miss
Rose Owens of Bloomlngton, the state
president. Miss Edith Proaty, supreme
president of Iowa, Mrs. Helen Drake,
supreme organizer of Beatrice, and Mrs.
A. C. Peterson, past supreme president
of Aurora, were also present. Three
hundred citizens greeted the P. B. O.'s at
the reception on Thursday night In the
fine now Odd I'ellown hall. Extra coaohes
were provided by the 1'nlon Pacific to
convoy the delegates to and from Puller
ton and a train was held in Columbus
to allow those from the south to make
connections. The following officers were
elected for tho ensuing year: President,
