tion, held on Thursday, June 3d:
"All firms affiliated with
the Associated Retail Dealers
of Omaha shall adopt the
following hours for the
summer months:
"Starting Monday, June 4th,
and continuing until
Wednesday, September 1st, all
stores shall close their
places of business at
5 P. M. Every Day,
Except ' Saturdays,
when 9 o'clock closing
shall be in force."

also makes an exceptionally encouraging
showing. In the boroughs of Brooklyn,
Queens and Richmond, however, there Is
some contraction. Taken as a whole, the
cities outside New York again make
somewhat Indifferent returns, the total
at eighty-one points, $50,071,043, being 16.
per cent smaller than In May, 1914, when
the aggregate reached $je,506.7D8. How
ever, indications of Improvement are not
entirely absent, inasmuch as repoits of
Increase at twenty-nine centers point to
reviving activity. Among the most nota

appears at numerous points, those most
pronounced being Baltimore, Detroit, In
dianapolis. Kansss City, Los Angeles,
Minneapolis. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh,
