THE brief' garden party days are here again.
The short-lived period between the beginning of warm
weather and the dosing of homes for the fashionable exodus U
cooler climes Is always the time that holds the lure of the out-of-doors.
When an Invitation Is received with "In the garden" affixed to the
left hand corner seldom Is there a guest missing.
The elements hare appeared to be somewhat opposed to garden fetes
In these part lately. Mrs. Lowrle Chllds planned an unusually attractive
one for Sunday evening, but the raindrops said. "Nay, nay." However,
Mrs. Chllds will give this affair in her garden this coming Sunday and
Miss Edith Sloan of New York City will be the honor guest.
The garden party given last evening by Mrs. John T. Stewart and
Mrs, Wildman at their attractive home. The Gables, in Council Bluffs was
a charming and gay affair, and for many the looked-for event of the week.
Among those attending from Omaha were: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Prltchett,
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stewart, the Misses Mildred Butler, Louise Dinning,
Menle Davis, Frances .Hochstetler, Alice Jaquith, Lynn Curtis. Messrs.
Robert Burns, A. B. Warren, Dr. Le Roy Crummer, Wlllard Butler, Fred
