Reporta from eastern marketa were In
the main rather bearish and this, together
with the ample supply of rattle on sale,
led to a very dull and unevenly lower
trade. Strictly choice cattle, both hevy
and light, sold at pretty close to steady
flgurea, yearlings reaching 39.00 again,
and beat heavy beeves aelllng around
S.N04i.ar. On the general run of cattle.
however, bids and sales were mostly
10a lower than Tuesday and trading was
very slow throughout on this basis.
Supplies of cows and heifers were of
rather moderate proportions, and as ds
