Ing motorcycle races are staged Wednes
day evening at the Stadium Speedway.
Carded originally for this afternoon,
the events had to .be postponed on ac
count of the rain making the nlank
track dangerously wet and slippery.
The formal opening will therefore occur
at S o clock Wednesday evening. Manager
Mogy Bernstein plans to have regular
' night races every Saturday, Sunday and
Wednesday evening hereafter. Wiring
for the numerous powerful lights Is now
tinder way.
Ten Hlers are under contract for the
events to be run three, times a week
(iuiing the season. They Include five of
last fall1 fastnl favorites and five new
riders, whom Mogy has picked up around
the i-irriiit because of their skill and
speed. They j i-omle some wonders In
tho way of speed performances and
Wednesday evening's opening will give
the speed fans the first opportunity to

some other top notcher In his place he

popularity of Stecher In this section of
the country, since for the last two year
he has been taking on all comers with

CHICAGO, May 29. Rain and cold
weather have caused 100 base ball games
to be postponed in the National, Ameri
can and Federal leagues since the stsrt
of the season six weeks ago, according
to figures compiled here today. The fits-
urea set a lecord for major league post-
poncmenus.
The Federal organization suffered heav
iest, having forty-five games postponed.
The National taague had twenty-nine
and the American twenty -eight.
In Chicago the Federals have been
obliged to postpone eight of the last six
teen scheduled games.
