RODRKES ARE EASY
FOR ISBELL'S MEN
Tom Blodjett and Franklin Johnson
Are Hit at Will and Invaders
Win, IS to 5.
TOE BILLS MAKES FOUR HITS
George Mogrldga, who Is about the en
tire Des Moines pitching staff, copped
s not her victory from Omaha yesterday
afternoon. It wn a very frigid victory
and the fO brave fans who took a
chance, aaw the Rourkes lose, IS to S,
and almost froae to death In ao doing.
Tom Blodgett started for Omaha and
lasted five rounds, during; which time
the Boosters counted five runs and nine
hits, franklin Johnson waa riven the
Job during the remaining four frames
and waa nicked for eight runs and seven
hits.
Except for his wtldnesa, which proved,
fatal on almost every occasion, Mogrldga
hurled a nice game. Not one of the
Rourke runs wan earned, but all came
through errors or walks.
The Rourke defense was also quite
wobbly, five errors being committed at
crucial moments.
4 Bills the Rlas;er.
Joe Bills, once of this city, waa the
slugging gent of the Sabbath matinee.
He poled four blows and walked once In
five trips to the rubber, thus giving
lilm a perfect average. One of the hits
was a circuit clout and two were dou
bles. Joe also made a nice error to
complete his activities.
Dlok. Breen was the beat batsman tor
the Rourkes. Dick's batting eye came
back yesterday and he nicked Hogrldge
for three hits. Breen's batting nd the
fielding of Thomeson and Forsythe were
the .-only redeeming features of the game.
Thomason and Fbrsythe both, made two
swell running catches of drives from the
bat of Tex Jones, and Oy also con
tributed a nifty peg to the plate to catah
Mogrldge a city block, trytng to count
on a hit.
Today the Rourkes win battle Clyde
Ware's troupe from Wichita. The day
will be ladles' day and the game will be
called at 3 o'clock. fJcore:
