Handy ' lightweight beeves were, as
usual of late. In tho best demand, and
they - sold quite freely it good, steady
prices. Heavy cattle wrre nut so much
sought after and the fiellng on that kind
waa hardly as good as yesterday. The
best yearlings sold up to $!.2&, the same
as yesterday.
Good cows and heifers were In very
fair demand and were strong sellers If
not too heavy. Big, heavy cowa were a
little slow, the demand for that kind be
ing loss urgent, t anners and undesirable
grades generally were very slow sailers.
Feeders were In good demand at strong
prices. Hay-fed Westerns brought $7.76.

the war. wheat prices today shot upward
nearly 10 cents a bushel, finished wild.
