Cattle Receipts of cattle at this
point were light thla morning, only 2,600
head being reported In. All other points
were also meagcrly supplied. The close
of the Chicago and Pittsburgh yards
agalnat the shipping out of stock haa had
a tendency to aend shipping ordera In
this direction, with the result that the
demand was very much more active this
morning than usual, and all klnda of
killing cattle advanced sharply.
Beef steers, cows and helfera of good
quality, suitable for shipping purposes,
were fully 101115c higher than yesterday,
and In many cases were more than. that.
Buyer In fact were quoting their pur
chases as ranging ail the way from lOo
to as much as -So higher In extreme
cases. The market was active at the ad
vance and the most of the cattle sold In
good season. There was nothing choice
