guaranteed by the Mendelssohn choir,
which Is a musical organisation consist

out compensation, paying; their own ex
penses. Their object has been to study
the best and greatest thlnn In choral
music, and to present the same to the
general public with the aid of one of the
greatest orchestras In the world and a
quartet of the very best soloists (vocal)
obtainable. The contract was to be In
effect flva years, Omaha having prac
tically the exclusive western prt viler, of
the orchestra, which spends most of Ha
spare time, that Is. when not In actual
Chicago season. In the greatest and most
musical centers of the east.

The Mendelssohn choir has so thor
oughly maintained the local end of the
business contract that the orchestra, sat
isfied with Us partnership, has filled Its
part of the contract, coming hera after
the tornado in U1S against possible and
probable financial failure. Such was their
confidence In local enthusiasm.
The Mendelssohn choir, knowing that
its partnership with the Chicago Sym
phony Orchestra la not exclusively on a
commercial basis. Is very anxlbus to
make this closing year of the five-year
contract series such a complete success
artistically and financially that the con
tract In partnership may be extended for
another five years, believing that it will
be a great advertisement for Omaha
along lines of civic progress, develop
ment and Improvement.
Appeals All to Help.
To insure the success of . this season
and to give the Chicago Symphony Or
chestra full evidence that Its enterprise
la appreciated, the Mendelssohn choir oap
peals to all Omaha to help It In Its work.

The executive committee of 'the Men
delssohn choir has been planning and
working day and night to make this
season's concerts a tremendous popular
affair. Th programs will be mad up
largely of the musical numbers ' which
have been most popular during th for
mer conoerts, and an arrangement has
been mad with regard to making th
season tickets more elastic as to being
transferable, which will be explained by
the who ar now selling th subscrip
tion tickets. The members of th ohoir
will start this week securing pledge
from subscriber and wilt explain all th
4vaatngea t th season ticket schero.

Auditorium will be sold out by sub
scription for th concerts of 191E, which
will be given April and 17. ;
