Advices from other selling points were very unlavorable, which naturally made buyers here backward about filling oiders. The trade, In fact, opened ex treme. slow snd dull and It was ater than usual before anything like a clear snoe was effected. Early bids ranged anywhere from loo to as much as 5o lower in soms extreme esses. In the end beef steers sold around 10c, and In spots as much aa luc lower than veaterdav. Another way to describe the market would be to quote It ltti20o lower inr the two itaya. Cows and heifers suffered fully as much or a HtU more than beef steers, being generally 10dirc lower than yesterday, and In many oases gs much as 86o lower than Monday. Tctal for the threo days of 24,231 head shows a shortage of more than S.uuo head as compared with last week, and Is over t.oiio smaller than a year ago. A general decline all' a.ong the tine served to weaken the local ntarkrt still more today, and trade opened fully a dime lower than yesterday. Hellers, realis ing that In the fao of the big Os-'lines at other points, local prices would never be much better than these early offers. I and they soon started to cut loose at figures that were fully a dime, and in some Instances as much as lie. lower. The market was not so dull as on pre ceding days of the week, but at that was pretty alow. Toward the extreme close things be came dull, and It looked at one time as though the trade would weaken, but the last sales were steady with ths general decline. Taking the market all the way throuah prices are a tit aims tower, Today's figures set a new low mark for the year, being the lowest lloce tho early oart of mil. Scott's Bluff country. Nebraska and Iowa, made up the big bulk of the offerings, as only some six or seven cars of ewe comprised the aged sheep on sale. The general trade on . lambs wound up about steady with yss terday'a prions, there, being two cars of fed westerns making a top of $.90. Sev eral cars of lambs sold st I8.2K, and these were a straight cut of some that brought Identically the same price on Tuesday s , msrket. Quite a tew sales were made at H.oiiHiS.a0, quality and weight being Im portant factors In fixing the price. The shortage of something In the lint , of mutton caiMMvl considerable competi tion, resulting In a price advance any where from strong to as much as 10(rl4n higher. Most of the ewes, including both . fed westei-ns and Colorados, moved, esrly st W . with less desirable kinds going st WtoflR.IW. The isllty showed no Ini- ' portent change from yesterday. Tilers were no yearlings or wethers to speak of. Under the Influence of light recelpta for the week to dale the sellers have been enabled to score an advance of luaic en both sheep and lambs as compared with tha close of the previous week.
