The receipts for the week have been very liberal, both as compared with recent weeks and with a year ago. . Beef steers under the Influence of heavy receipts and lower prices at east ern points, have easod off a little during the week and are now anywhere from steady to lvgi&c lower than the close of last week, the amount of the decline depending upon the kind and quality of the cattle. Cowg and heifers have been pretty good sellers throughout the week, but tliev, too, have eased off a little, being any where from steady to 10c lower than a week ago. The demand has been good most days and the offerings of that class of cattle quite large. Still the mar ket haa been in a good, healthy condi tion.
