The buying power In caah. whnt In not
only likely to keep up to present liberal
pmportiona, but win improve. This wm
resct4 In a cable received on th Uoerd
of Trad, which claimed that Europe
mast have 804.W0.0(a) bushels from tin
L'nhed eta tee before July 1.
RpeouleUoa in wheat show more
breadth. Th public ia in tha market an
a liberal arala, and whenever value
show recessions tha buying power lm
previa, it t generally believed that
I Jvermore, tha Nw Tork speculator, la
long a Una of wheat Ir. tha market.
Com la likely to show an lnereaawd
movement, but it will tail tnrreaeed bur
Ins of tha caah article in orshjr to hep
value up around too praamit less'. The
Canadian rail vara bar made a. rut in
tha rate an com from Minneapolis to
western Canada,, and tha latter section
win rd liberally of tha gold cereal
because It l aaid to ba cheaper than
'xi 1 1. This will probably help the oam
situtlon no llttla. Farmer ar Imllmid
to ell corn around tha present prioe
level, and It la aaid that la Iowa thia
ruin la in quite liberal offering
Circulation In oata baa narrowed down
to smaller wo portion and it will take
new speculative blood an tha bull aid to
oi IB an advance In prices.
Among tha snecolater who take a
hand In hog product tha lard Ik the
favorite. Tbla la not only tha case with
the lanrar packers, na well a with the
largar speculators, but the entire trade
seem to favor tha bull side of lard.
!loka of that commodity are ame.il r,
and It Is expected that tho buying will
continue, not only in the. ruturea, but la
tha caah aa wall.
There la a better demand on foreign
account for lard, and some Improvement
haa bean ah own In the buying of meats,
with tha latter taken largely from the
aouth.

CATTLE llio market as usual was
practically bare of cuttle today, theia be
ing nothin of any Importance lu alght.
For the week receipts have been quita
liberal and full equul to tho reiulre
nienta of the market.
Pricea have f luctuiite.1 to aomc extant,
the week having started out with ft lower
market, but such declines aa took piac
were later on recovered so ar as killing
cattle were concerned. At the close of the
week cows, steera and heifers suitable
for packers' uso arc selling in about tha
same notches as a week ago.
Stockers and feeders, which have been
in liberal supply thla week, have eased
off and they are nt the close of the
week still MfcJiSc lower than last week.
Considering that It nas been a holiday
week, the market haa by no nteana been
In a bad condition.

eight cars direct. The week's total is
4'J,W5 head, a pain of 2.000 over Isst week,
and fi.OnO larger than Hie same week last
year.
Trade oiionod out dull, and while ship
pers bought some of the lies, hogs early
at nearly steailv prices, packers started
out bidding M10o lowr thsn yssterday.
Sellers were expecting at least a stesily
market nnd tliey refused to make so
large a cjncesrlon without putting up a
fight. For n while packer atuck to thalr
early offers, but nothing sold at this
time, and before Hiey could fill their
orders they were forced to raise their
bids a little, so that when the bulk of tho
hogs finally sold prices wer around ftc
lower. Movement was dull throughout,
and it was well slon In the forenoon
before anything like u clearance waa
made. The general market was largely a
nickel lower than Friday.
Bulk of the sales whs made at $7.1041
$7.20, the long string going at $7.1fi, while
quite a sprinkling sold at 87.25. the top.
Today's decline puts prices right bsck
where they, were Thursday, that Is, a
good dime higher than at the clnae of
last week.
