ofr Trade was dreggy at the start, but
became more act've as tha morning ad
vanced and 4 pretty fair clearance had
been made by 1 o'clock.
Shipping grades were unevenly down,
some sales being quoted aa nearly steady,
while others Were close to a dime lower.
There was more life to the shipper trade
today, and while there were no real good
lights here best butchers sold aa high
as $K 26. The average market Is fully 60
10c lower than Wedneaday. Bulk of the
offerings moved at $7 au'q7.96. th long
strings landing at $7.Mf7.90. Rough
heavies were again the object of more or
less discrimination, but the Increased ac
tivities of the shippers and simulators
shortened UP the Packers' supply to such
aa extent that tha less desirable hogs
finally sold on sI'Aiit the aam ha'
the other kinds-thai Is. :.ti 10c ner.

SHEEP In many ways ' sheep and
lamb so!d on todny market much like
yesterday, for the supply of killers was
rather moderate, slrktly choice grades
scarce, the general market active and
price on flit l.imhs showed a s'mllar
advance, being strung to a dime higher
Vvhst few yearlings and ewes were of
fered sold generally steady to strong,
and In cuea posallily a shade higher.
It was another sat afactory trade all
around, from seller's point of view, as
the receipts for the Week thus fsr have
been lllrrsl, the largest for any similar
period for the eason to dte, tjl,ng es
timated at some 147 106 head, a against
1.17 934 during the same days last week
and li"i.8T6 a year ago. Outs'de points
reported slow trade snd an easier ten
dency to prices early. The clearance here
was goo I again today.
