SCHEDULE ABOUT FINISHED
Only Two Open Dates Are Left
Second Team Is Also Lining;
I p for Its Gridiron Fn
deavors. Foot ball was started at Central High
Thursday afternoon by a meeting in one
of the study halls, with about seventy
five enthusiasts present. There are only
about five old men back that Coach Mills
expects to show up In good form snd a
strong appeal was made to all the fellows
In tho room to go out for the game. A
hearty response was made and directly
after the meeting a number who were pre
pared were out on the campus getting on
to the "feel" of the ball. They did not
do any rough work because they did not
have the foot bail suits, but they will he
all fixed out In a couple of days with
everything. Including six dozen new Jer
seys and socks that have been bought out
of the money left In the fund from last
year.
Stirring speeches were made by Athletic
Manager McMillan, Coach Mills and the
new assistant coach, L. W. Harrington.
Superintendent E. U. Graff assured the
fellows that his hearty support was be
hind them and that he would do all In
his power to help out. Principal Reed
also spoke to the boys and urged them
to keep up their studies so that they
would not have to drop off the team and
spoil tha school's chances.

been made and It Is one of the best and
stiffest that the school has had for years.
The games are all with the bigger high
schools of the state and there will be
some very hard games early In the sea
son. Tha game with Lincoln will come
early and a large crowd Is expected to
go to the Capital City to witness the con
test. Nebraska City will be the first
game that will be much of a struggle
and It will take some quick work to be
ready when the time comes. Tha follow
ing Is the complete schedule:
September 26 Crelghton on Crelghton
field.
October 8 Open.
October 10 Nebraska City at Omaha.
October 17 Lincoln at Lincoln.
October 24 York at Omaha.
October 31 Sioux City at Sioux City.
November 7 Des Moines at Omaha.
November 14 North Platte at Norts
Platte.
November 21 Open.
November !S (Thanksgiving) Chicago at
Omaha.
A good schedule Is being made for tha
second team, as something is going to be
made of them under the watchful eye of
Harrington. It Is not yet decided which
of the Chicago schools will be In Omaha
on Turkey day, but it will be the best
that can be secured.
The same plan that has been used In
former years ss a financial basis and a
constant source of funds will be used
again this year, namely, the students'
association. This ticket, the price of
which Is 21.60, Is a season ticket admit
ting to all foot ball, basket ball, base ball,
track and debates given by the school in
the city.
E. E. McMillan, the new vice principal,
will handle all the funds for the athletic,
board this year, as Mr. Reed will not
have time with his other work. Last
year close to 800 tickets were sold, but
with the Increased enrollment and more
spirit it Is hoped that the sala will come
up to 1.000.
