New Mnn Appenrs,
Among those present yesterday wus Mr.
Bchlelbner, tho well known 3,000 buck
beaut. The beaut was a regular demon on
the paths on one occasion. Ho walked and
pwlpod second. Then he swiped third.
Then he swiped homo. Mr, Schllobner did
pot make those steals becauso he Is any
try Cobb, but because ho was possessed
Of considerable Rood fortune. When he
rent to second McAllUter muffed the pill,
when he went to third Cochran neglected
to touch him because he thought that
Graham had nhlffed for the third man
but when the umpa said a rah am walked,
nnd he came homo on a double steal wtth
Graham conducting the weighty end and
with the Knw lnflelders throwing tho
111 about between them with reckless
abandon. Outside of the base running
the beaut didn't have a chance to show
much, but thut Is not his fault.
Tho Kaws made the first counts In tho
third and wero quite scrappy therefore.
tJowen boat out an Infield bunt to Thomas
and was sacrificed to second by McAl
lister, llelslgl whiffed, but Cochran was
passed and Wakefield was hit whero ho
shouldn't have been. This filled the paths
and Forsytho swung a drive to right. Con
g&Uon muffed snld drive' and three came
over. Koerner rolled the next one to
Graham and ended the round, although
Dirk Cooley and his cohorts opined It
didn't end tho round, because Crubb hod
thrown his glove at the rolling pill. After
ten minutes of argument the combat con
tinued wtlh the round ending per orders
of t'mps Cullem.
In the fourth Krug scored one for our
ido by walking, stealing second, going
to third on I.attlmore'a muff and scoring
on Dunlop's sacrifice fly.
ReUlgl Ulinsed lit Fifth.
The big noise broke In the fifth. Koer
tter made a wild lienvn error and Con
palton was safe at second. The 3,000 buck
baut hit Into a fielder's choice, but
Tleitlgl hobbled Graham's grounder,
Krueger soaked one to left, scoring the
1uut and Crabb was safe on Cochran's
muff. With the bags choked Krug tore
loose a triple over Talten's bean and three
cored. Krug counted a moment later on
Xninlop's sacrifice fly
Mr. Doardman relieved Mr. Itelslgl In
the next Inning and three came over on
t-e newcomer. The beaut walked ami
Mole, as related, while Graham was walk
ing, thus making one run. Krueger busted
a triple and Graham scored. Crabb walked
and he and Krueger busted a triple and
Graham scored. Crabb walked and he and
Krueger pulled a double steal. Six stolen
Vases In one round. Pretty nifty.
Again In the eighth the Ilourkes became
Jiolsy. The. beaut walked, Graham went
out. Krueger walked and rCabb hit a
Insle. Krug beat out an Infield hit and
Dunlop drove a pippin to center, Ftour
moie runs.
In the eighth the combat, which had
become more or less punk, was livened
tip In an unusual and unexpected manner,
Mr. Tlapps appeared on the scene In a
Germany Schaefer-XIck Altrock role. Mr.
Jtapps dispensed comedy for the last two
bases. Tho game was called nt the end

Ten Days' Clause is
Fatal Objection to
Negative Covenant
CHICAGO, July 17. Tho presence of tho
ten-day clauso In Pitcher Johnson's con
tract with the Clnernnatl Nationals was
held a "fatal objection" to the enforce
ment of tho "negative covenant" by
which the player agreed not to play for
any other team. In the opinion of the
appellate court, handed down In full
today. Tho opinion, as announced In
brief yesterday, reversed the ruling under
which Judgo Foell In the superior court
enjoined Johnson from playing with the
Kansas City Federals.
"In the opinion of the majority of the
court," tho opinion reads In port, "the
provisions In the contract, by which the
club, by giving notice, could end and
terminate all the liabilities undertaken
by the, club under the contract, Is a
fatal objection to the right of the club
to enforce by Injunction the performance
by Johnson of tho negative covenant not
to play or perform for any one other than
the club."
