After suffering for three days under the
nauseous redolence of throe defcata the,
Ttoruke athletes enjoyed a reversal of
form yesterday and were treated to their
share of the ambrosial fragrnnco of a
regular victor-, which so peluantly af

with but one or two exceptions and tho
'fans departed from the ynnl with a
favorable Impression of Pa's boys.

pitcher. He waa battered with consider
able proportion and found himself in
such a position that to continue as a good
manager he must hoist himself from tho
box. Thus Maddox removed Maddox, And
Xmbort, the 19-year-old mnrvet, was
substituted on the heaving mound.
Willi HfTfii Nicely.
On the other hand Ralph Willis was
twirling sterling ball for one slds. After
the opening round It was Impossible for
the Wlches to enjoy that pleasant sensa
tion of sliding over the platter with an
Jionest to good marker. Ilalplt allowed but
five hits and a couple of those might
have been converted Into putouta,
The Wlches were somewhat previous In
tho scoring line and this so peeved Mr,
Willis that ho Instantly squelched any
