loose with the bum weather Just before
It was time to go and after he had liber

water he called for the sun, which shlned

But the sun came too late. The damage
was done and the ball game was called

Pa Signs Graham.
The Rourko rpster was agumented "yes
terday by the signature of George
Graham. Bill Schlpke suffered a bum
foot and is In a somewhat incapacitated
condition. Thus Pa signed1 George In a
hurry to fill the breach. George would
like) to play a. few more games of pastime
and Pa figures that with a little play the
former secpnd-sacker will become
enamored with the spirit of the firing line
and stick for the rest of the eeaaon.
Another new man Is also to arrive be
fore the Links are sent home, a beaten
and disheartened bunch. The new gent
la to come from Cleveland as one-fourth
of the Shestak. deal. Who might the
athlete be is unknown and deep mystery
surrounds his mention. He probably Will
be a pitcher. If he is a pitcher Pa only
expresses one hope, that la that he is a
pitching pitcher and not a hitting
pltcheer.'as Omaha' has a superabundance
of the latter brand already.
Williams on Visit.
Harry .Williams spent hs off day mak
ing the rounds of his friends. Harry lives
in Omaha and was with Frank Chance
up to a few days ago, when Charley
Mullen was sent to the Highlanders. In
the opinion of .Omaha fans Harry has got
Mullen backed' off the boards. They pre
dict that before the season ends the
Omaha boy will be back in the rtiojors,
where he belongs.
Today the Rourkes and the Antelopes
will battle for the benefit of the paid cus
tomers and the members of the Vlntofi
street gang who are fortunate enough to
cop a ball. Bert Grover, the only living
twlrler with a boll on the left side of his
map, will oblige for Omaha, while Scrog
gins Is the likely candidate for the lLnk.
Scroggins is due for' an awful trimming
and Grover opines he is the lad to wield
the mighty stick.
