at Hudapesth and the smaller losses in
all ot the other markets with the pos

woro favorable pilvato reports as to tho
Canadian prospects and the selling by
July holdeis In tho big Kugtlsh market.
A cablo from that market says that the
crop yields now being sent out of Chi
cago have cauied a bearish feeling to
exist there.
In somo quarters tho opinion was of
fered that farmers will not accept tho
bids sent out at lower levels for thetr
wheat, but that they will stack It and
hold It for a later period and thresh and
market It whenever moro satisfactory
prices aro paid. Tho average farmor Is
believed to do In a position to hold con
siderable of his wheat for future market
ing and this may possibly curtail ship
ments ior a time at least.
Corn was weak yesterday. Thero was
a steady fooling- at the opening, but weak
ness seemed to develop when wheat
started on the down grade. Commission
houses led In tho buying, while profession
als wero the sellers, The eastern demand
for cash was slow, with sales of only
ltt.OOO bushels. Argentine corn was again
In liberal offerings, but this was partially
offset by tho small farm reserve! In tho
United States. Country offerings wero
next to nothing, and there wero scattered
unfavorable crop reports to como for
ward, Borne roports show that tho corn
Is beginning to deteriorate and that thero
has been some actual damage In tho dry
area, mainly south of tho line extending
from Chicago to the Platto river.
Oats suffered with the other grains and
showed losses of H0Mo for tho day.

terday that on any hard snots In tha
provision market thore was moro than
enough ribs and lard to tako care of the
buying power. Commission houses wero
Inclined to buy tha list at tho opening
yesterday, but they sold freely on all the
hard spots. The stock yards crowd woro

better demand for cash meats and lard.

ending June 22, 1914: In the winter wheat
belt the weather was favorable for har
vest, which Is well under way in tha
southern socttons, and has begun as far
north as Nebraska and Iowa, a he yield
Is satisfactory, except somewhat less than
expected In Oklahoma and Texas. In the
spring whoat belt the weathor was favor
able, and the crop Is making excellent
progress. It Is most too cold for corn In
somo northern states, and frost did somo
damage, cxpoctally In Michigan, but, on
tho whole, the crop made good progress,
with cultivation well under way and com
puted In many sections as far north as
southern Iowa. Corn needs mora mois
ture in portions of tho Ohio valley. Mis
sourl, Kansas and southward. Oats and
hay continue favorable in most northern
and western districts, Tobacco setting
still delayed, many sections lacking mois
