Rlpk Llndscy, a South Omaha fireman,
was arrested for alleged attempt to as
sault the 19-ycar-old daughter of Bd
Hover, a Sarpy county farmer. Llndscy
was arrested by Chief of Detectives
James 8heahan and Sheriff Grant Chnso
of 8arpy. He was lodged In. the South
Omaha Jail.

suit brought by Llndscy somo days ago
ngatnst tho father of tho young woman,
whom he Is accused of having offended.
Ltndsey also Is said to have sworn out
a peaco warrant against Hover In the

Hover appeared, but tho plaintiff (Tailed
to appear and the charge was dismissed.
Tho ease grow out of a happening nt
a barn dance held two weeks ago'tn the
barn of Ed Hover In Sarpy county,

scy, it is said. He went to Mayor Hoc
tor's houso tho morning after tho hap
pening and threatened to kilt Llndscy,

Linilsey says there is nothing to the
charge. Ho claims that tho girl becamo
Offended at something said to her by
him and that her complaints followed.
The $12,000 damage. suit brought against
Hover by tho man whom ho accuses of
having insulted his daughter, is said to
havo precipitated tho criminal charge.
Ltndsoy has been on the flro depart
ment for a short tlo only. Ho is a
married man and, has one child.

a lino ot sport -which will exceed all
other ot Its kind. ,
Among the big events of the day will
be horse racing and pony and potato
ratios by some of the best riders at the
stock yards. The plcnlo will be be held
at tha old South Omaha Country club
grounds.
Polish Plcnla Today.
Tho Polish National nlllanco of South
Omaha will give a big plcnlo at Sarpy
Mills park this afternoon. Refreshments
will be served. Automobiles will carry
tho club members from tho end of the
car line to tho plcnlo grounds. There
will be a baso ball game between teams
of the Polish Athletic association.

Charles F. Tynor, 12 years old, died yes
terday at the South Omaha hospital fol
lowing' an operation for appendicitis. He
was the son of C. W. Tyner of 2620 E
street. Mr, Tyner, sr., Is freight agent

Frank Corrigan, cooper foreman at Mor

saw with safety. The new man was

Air Compressor Illovrs Up.
While Working on a well at Morris and
company yesterday evening at ;30 o'clock
Master Mechanic P. J. Lcnlhan, Foreman
Jack Dougherty and Purchasing Agent
John Shannon were all injured when an
elbow blew out of an air compressor
which the men were using. Lonihan ond
Dougherty were engaged in blowing In a
well. The tank of compressed air Is at
tached to a pipe that goos down Into the
well. The attachment, an elbow, It Is
said, was defective and the machine blew
up. Lcnlhan had both arms -jut one rib,
broken and his head ripped open. He
was taken to his home at Twenty-second
and N streets.
Dougherty, who Is the most seriously
injured, sustained Internal injuries and
was taken to the South Omaha hospital
where he was seml-conscloua for a long
time after the accident. Shannon, the
third man, was Injured when he ran to
the assistance of the other two. Ho hurt
his leg in a fall. Dr. J. J. Humpal at
tended the Injured men.
