LINCOLN, Neb., Juno 15.-(Speclal Tel
egram.) In addition to pitching hangup
ball, 'Willis won his own game today
against Lincoln by a timely single over"
Qulllln'a head, bringing home Thomas
with the only run of the game. By the
1 to 0 victory Omaha broken Its long los
ing atreak and put an effectual stop to
the fast climbing antelope.
Willis had Lincoln tamed at every
stage of the proceedings and the six
hits which the Tigers gathered off his
delivery were so scattered that not a
man reached third. Cooney also pitched
tight ball In all but the eighth Inning
when three hits tatted Omaha Its run,
Thomas opened tho eighth with a clean
single to center. Sheatak attempted to
bunt but sent a popup between first and
second and with Lloyd drawn over to
cover the throw, the ball fell safe. Wllls
then lifted one over Qulllln's head and
thj ball rolled into eft field, allowing
Thfmas to romp home with the winning
run. Bchlpke sacrificed and Bheetalc
land Willis each moved up a base. Krug
sent a high fly to short left which Col
11ns captured, holding the.runnera on the
base. He threw to Qulllln. Foxle Sadie
hit the ball and Shestak was touched out
Vhen he left the bag.
Lincoln made a desperate attempt to
tie it lip in tho ninth, but Willis tight
pitching was too much. McGafflgan
was out- on strikes and then Lloyd In
attempting to dodge, caught tho ball on
the end of his baot and It went for a
single into left Mullen, filed out to
Thomas, but Miller was safe on Ward's
bad chuck of his grounder and Lloyd
moved up to second. Qulllln ended the
Inning by grounding to Thomas, forcing
Sillier at second.
PKch AlrtlKht Unit.
For the first seven tnnlngs Willis and
Cooney mowed the batters down In rapid
order. Congalton opened the sixth with
a single, but Ward grounded to Qulllln,
forcing Congalton at second and the Tig
ers completed a freak double play when
Ward failed to run. He disputed the
decision with the um'plre claiming tho
ball had hit htm on tho foot and was
dead, but Etockdale disagreed and ruled
mm out.

Against Sioux Gity
Bert Brenner, last year one of the atars
of, the Western league pitching brigade,
expects to bo able to work with Omaha
during the series' to be Inaugurated to
day with Sioux City, Bert has remained
in Omaha on account of & bad shoulder
and arm, but he has been working out
constantly and has worked considerable
of the soreners out of the bad wing. Bron
nor was depended upon to be the leading
twlrler on the Omaha staff this year, but
a sore arm at the very start of the sea
son has made him worthless up to date.
With his return the pitching staff will be
a great deal more dependable than it
has been.
Tho Rourkes' return 1iome Tuesday
after a rather disastrous road trip over
the western circuit to meet Josh Clarke
and his hoodoo Sioux City braves. Omaha
will play twelve games, at home before
departing again, and Qondlng hopes to
work the team up Into the standing dur
ing that time. Friday will be ladles' day
with Sioux City the attraction. All game
are called at 8 o'clock.
