IHE BEL: OMAHA, "WEDNESDAY, MAY 27, 1914. i 1 i i i ii w I i i .ii ii -a ROURKES FAtt fO SCORE Unable to Cojie' with Strenuous Play of Wichita. r - , -' EIGHT RUNS FOR. KANSAS;' TEAM Vlnllnn Find Grovrr Hnr -to lilt and Ste.vrns I Unable In 8np Onslaimht for Mort Tlmn Short Period. The Rourkes fell n victim to Wichita a second time Tuesday, '5 to 0, and wilt now be unable to leave for the twenty same road trip with an even .600 per centage even though they win today The faltering Rourkes never had a look In against the rejuvenated WicheS. The gents from Kansss hopped on Bert Grover of no-hlt game, arid did likewise when George 8teve'niC' newcomer, es sayed to take up the burden In the box. It Doesn't Take Much to Make Mutt Sore . . . Drawn for The Bee by "Bud" Fisher In the meantime "JlmmT" Durham had all kinds of fun tearing the Rourko hit ters. In every -but one Inning, the sixth, -Durham was In bad. hut Ihla teemed to de light that person -for he never let an Omaha uniform brush hfi home plate. Time and again Omaha runners found thtlr way clear on the bases, "only to be stranded when their colleagues failed to deliver the knockout punch. Even with three on and one out Ward and Conga! ton. the two heaviest hitters on the Omaha squad, fell dowrfmlserably. Wlchltn Bruin Early. The Wlchea started on drover at the start A walk and two hits counted one in the second and two hits and a sacri fice and a calamity counted two In the fourth. The calamity ,wa s by Mr. Grover himself. Bosnolonl scored Henry from second on a double and Kmc threw the ball to Grover who.-attehipted to heave out Boeaolonl going (o second. The throw was a beaut The only thing that prevented Its Journeying '.oyer the right field fence, where It might renew ac quaintanceship with the pills knocked over by Jim Kane some time ago, was that Drover's arm ,1a a little weak. Graver's Intentions were good but his performance fcl) ahprt. At that Bert probably made na Jong a throw as Je Jcune when he broke the record. A couple of drives and a run In the subsequent Inning - put the blink on Grover. Ha hied himself to the, club houso and Stevens was. called to the res cue. Steve finished; the Inning like a little man and did veryYilcely for two more Innings when' He became disgusted. 3Io was stranded on thlrd'bas'e after be Ins safe on nn error and with two com rades on the other sspk Ward and Con gallon fluked as previously related. .Be ing on third under si jch, circumstances la enough to peeve any .pitcher and Stevens can not be blamed If -h let up a lbt In his twirling. A base op balls and a couple of hits let In a run In the eighth. Stevens then made two of the Wtchea go out by Krug dropped an easy fly Into left field. Addi tionally peeved Stevens tossed one up to Nicholson, who cleaned Up the bar,s, but was caught himself' going, to socond. The same, teams will play today After which the Rourkes will leave for Sioux City for the -Initial series on the long1 trip to the west. Score: . , WICHlTAr- ' At), ,B.tH. O. A. E. MLead me to it" you'll say just as quick as youinvest in a tidy red tin and find out first hand just how good P. A. is as a pipe or cigarette tobacco ! ringe Albert ' the national joy smoke brought thousands and thousands of old jimmy pipes out of the garrets. It has revo lutionized pipe and cigarette smoking ! That's because Prince Albert is made by a patented process that cuts out the "grouch" and just lets in the sunshine ! Never in your life have you hit such flavor and fragrance and freshness! Play P. A. in a jimmy pipe or roll up the corkingest makin's cigarette you ever put fire to. It's all one and the same thing just good for what ails your smokappetite ! And it rolls up so dead easy. Being mighty fresh, it just stays put and doesn't blow away or run away like the uj?f-brands. And, yoii know, today's the day! Bay Princu Albert tvaryuihtrt.
