The Sktnnor Manufacturing company
has doubled Its capital stook and is to
build a now seven-story factory at one
at the southeast corner of FourUonth
and Jackson strcols. The offices of tlio
company sny they are now going to make
Omaha the macaroni city of the country,
as they hold this new factory will be tlio
largest in the country. The Skinner
Manufacturing company has been en
gaged In tlio manufacture of macaroni
at Twelfth and Jackson streets for three
year. The prcfent plant Is no lonor
large enough to turn out the supply to
meet the Increased demand. The high
coat of meat Is said to he responsible for
the lncreated demand for these products.
Doubles Capital Stock.
Monday night the stockholders met and
amended the articles of Incorporation,
doubling tho capital stock, Increasing It
from PM.0O) to Hto.000. The company has
just bought a quarter of block of track
age through the McCaguo Investment
company nt Fourteenth and Jackson
street The contract for the excavation
hsa been let to tho Partridge-Thompson
company. Harry Lawrlo Is the architect
for the building. The new factory Is to
be of pressed brick and reinforced con
crete, fireproof throughout. It Is to be
a, Urge, modern, sanitary and perfectly
equipped factory-

architect completes the plans, and the
building le to be teady for occupancy In
four months. The present factory build
ing at Twelfth and Jackson streets wilt

taken by Gottlieb Storz and another In
tercet by Michael Shirley. The officers

Persons who have signed bonds of of
fenders convicted In police court who
appeal to district court and fall to ap
pear, are likely to experience increased
difficulty In evading liability as the re
sult of a method adopted by Judgo Eng
lish, who Is now engaged In disposing of
more than 400 of these cases.
In all cases where It appears the bonds
aro of value, and (specially In frequent
Instances when ono bondsman has "gone
to the front" torjrom a doren to twenty
offenders, the Judge Is setting dates for
trial rather than forfeiting bonds at onco.
As a result, bondsmen will have duo no
tice and scant excuse for falling to pro
duce their principals.
The dispute, which has lasted for years,
as to whether the county attorney or the
school board's attorney should sue bonds
men, still exists. The school board Is
entitled by law to the revenue from for
feited bonds In cases of violation of city
ordinances, but in the past ulsd has been
receiving small amounts which have been
collected In cases In -which violations of
state laws aro involved, it is said.
