prisoners In Iowa penitentiaries twice
convicted of a felony, were presented to
day to Circuit Judge Walter J. Smith.

Although admitting that the law did
not apply to any prisoner now In Iowa
prisons, and advising the court that the
Iowa Board of Pnrole had rescinded Its
order of sterilization. Attorney General
Cos:on In his arguments asserted he had
no objection to nn Injunction being Issued
against the Board of Parole and the war
den and physician of tho Fort Madison
prison to prevent them from performing
vasectomy on the complainants, but h
did want a decision upon the constitu
tionality of the act.
Attorney George B. Stewart, represent
ing twenty-three convicts In the Fort
Madison prison, Insisted that an Injunc
tion should be Issued. .

and a total of thirty "privates" were In
line. Tonight the marchers slept In the

Pollard's face. Spectators say he knocked
Pollard down.
Later tho mayor said Pollard had

arrests In connection with the kidnaping
ot Bcv. Otis U Spurgeon hero April 6
were mado, today when Michael Burke,
an undertaker, and P. A. McLaughlin, a.
soloonkopcr, were taken into custody by
orders of tho sheriff. A total of seven
arrests have been mado In connection
jvith the caBe, five others being released

CHICAGO, April 18.-A tumor at tho
base of the brain ot Dr. "William T.
Klrby, former private banker, was found
today by physicians conducting an au
topsy on Klrby, who died here yesterday.
Klrby before his death requested that his
brain be examined to prove his conten
tion that he was Insane.
Ktrby's bank here closed November 3,
1912, owing depositors about 230,000.
