More than the usual number of travelers
of this dty are planning to ko Abroad for
the summer. So many Americans are
going that It Is difficult to get reserva
tions. Mr. and Mrs. C. X. Dletz plan to leave
In May to meet Mr. and Mrs. Gould Dlotz
In Tarls. The latter, who hro taking a
trip around the world, will arrive In
Xaplea May 16, and will then go to Paris".
Mr. Joseph Harden and Miss Sadie Hay
den, 'who hav been to Australia with
Mr. and Mrs. Gould Dletz, will go as far
as Naples with them,
Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Rugg havn engaged
passage and will sail from New York
May 5 for a six months' trip through
Europe. They leave Opiaha April 25.
Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Ilussetl left Friday
for Netf York 4o salt Tuesday on the
Kaiser "Wllhelm to Join their daughters.
Miss Agnes and Miss Anna Russell, In
Berlin and to remain abroad for ten
weeks. The Misses Russell have been
In Europe with Mrs. C. E. Johannes since
last July. Mrs. Johannes Is now with a
travel party In Italy and wilt salt for
home April 17.
Mr. and Mr. George Myers and Miss
Nathalie Myers of Dubuque have, none
abroad to Join Mrs. E. W. Nash and Miss
' Nash In Berlin. Miss Myers will prob
ably remain abroad with Miss Nash for
the summer, Mrs. Nash returning earlier
Judge and Mrs W. A. Redlck and Mrs.
Warren Rogers and Miss Rogers landed
Monday In Palermo, Sicily, from their
India trip and will remain In Palermo a
week or two, probably, after which their
plans are not definite, as they leave the
Cleveland, on which they have been mak
ing the regular cruise. Mrs. John Redlck
and baby expect to salt May. 13 to Join
Judge and Mrs. Redlck hr England and
Mr. John Redlck hopes to go over later
In the summer to return with them.
M(m Clara Bull of Pasadena, Cat., who
has visited here a number of times the
cuest of the Misses Congdon, also plans
to go to Europe, salting the latter part
of June, She will visit In Omaha en route
to Europe

New York she went to Annapolis, where

Naval academy.
In Washington, where Miss Cowell was
the guest of MUs Crowcll, she was right
royally entertained by 'Senator Gilbert
M. Hitchcock and Congressman C. O,
tobelt, through whose courtesies she
was shown through the White House and
was also accorded the privilege of lis
tenlng to the debate on the toll esemp
tton clause of the Panama canal act,
MUs Cowell is now' with her room
mate at Vassar. Miss Bettle Alllnson, at
her home In Haderfo'rd, .a suburb of
Philadelphia, and . will spend Easter

her uncles, Gutzon and Solon Borglum.
Mr. Clarence Darlow will spend his en
tire vacation in New York City.
Mr. Clarke Colt and his mother re
turned Wednesday from Detroit, where
they wero called last week by the Illness
of his nephew. Donald Allee, who Is In
a serious condition from erysipelas. The
boy is 14 and the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert D. Allee, formerly of Omaha. His
condition was about the same when Mr.
Colt left there and little hope was enter
tained for his recovery.
Michigan Musical
Clubs on Long Tour
to Include Omaha
The Michigan Glee and Mandolin clubs,
which appear at the Brandels theater the
evening of Tuesday, April 21, have left
Ann Arbor and are now swinging around
the west on a 6,600-mile trip to the Pa
cific coast. Their Itinerary Includes'
Grand Rapids, Chicago, St. Louis, Den
ver, Laramie. Salt Lake City, Reno,
Berkeley, Pasadena, Omaha ahd Rock
ford, For the entertainment of the tainted
collego musicians while in Omaha the
local alumni, with Dr. Claude T. Uren
as chairman, have arranged a full pro
gram of activities. These will close with
a big reception and dance at the Uni
versity club after the concert. Invitations
for the club affnlr have Just been Issued.
Tickets for the concert will be put on sale
this week by members of the committee.
Smallpox Ambulance' Upset:
Chauffeur John Murray of the Health
department narrowly escaped Injury Fri
day night when the smallpox ambulance
which ho was driving turned over at Pink
ney street and Florence boulevard. The
accident occurred as he was rounding the
corner and ho saved himself by clinging
to his seat.

Edward A. Fcaron, son of a former
Omaha commission man, Edward Fearon,
who moved wltl his family ibout a year
ago to Oakland, Cal., is reported as being
seriously 111 In a Butte (Mont,) hospital.
Junior Fearon Is a graduate of Crelghton'
and has been conducting a law office at
Lewlston, Mont. Several days ago he
was stricken with an attack of spinal
meningitis and his mother was called to
his bedside. A ' message from her to
Omaha friends Is to the effect that her
sop's outlook Is not certain. .
